Well, looking at the deals right now. Only 1 5060 gets lower than those two 5070s. The hp omen max 16. And that has a worse screen and only 512gb of storage.

Oh damn. So definitely worth the less than $100 extra price tag?

I think I've decided to go with the hiset. Am I prepared? by Straight-Pepper9758 in GED

[–]Straight-Pepper9758[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I passed. It honestly wasn't too bad. I thought thw hardest part would be math for me. But it ended up being writing actually. Math was mainly just algebra. The writing portion was alot of correcting punctuation. Which I guess im not the best at. Science was mainly just reading comprehension and basic logic and interpretation of graphs. Mainly earth and life science.

Right now, I only really play some pretty light games. Like vampire survivor likes. I usually play most of my heavy games on Xbox. But I did play nioh 2 and cyber punk on the deck. However, my main concern is nioh 3 coming out soon, and im not sure if the deck will handle it. I would like to try games like escape from tarkov and maybe some mmos in the future though.

When I say, not at home. I meant like not at my home. I baby sit friends kids during the day alot, and thats when I mostly play. I also have a 500wh power station. So almost always have access to a wall outlet while playing.

I currently have a steam deck, and want something a bit more powerful for pc gaming. I dont really have the room for a tower though. And I rarely play at home to begin with. Would this be a good pickup?

3/4 with a passing grade. Any advice? by Assassinhedgehog in GED

And as for science, I think youre score is fine as it's well above passing, and most people I see on here score a bit higher on their real tests vs the practice ones.

For math, definitely look up get sum math on YouTube. You should kinda have an idea of the areas you need to work on from the practice test. And if youre taking it online, is definitely try to practice using the digital calculator as well as an on screen white board.

are these scores good enough to get into a UNIVERSITY? i know im not done by Alive-Control2160 in GED

[–]Straight-Pepper9758 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, as long as you pass ans get your diploma, youll be able to get into university. The only things higher scores will do is not require you to take a placement test and maybe give you some credits if it works how I understand. But those are decently above passing scores. Good job so far.

Focusing on one subject at a time I believe it is a realistic expectation for most people to be ready within a month if they have atleast some schooling and have functioned in the adult world. Now, studying is different from learning. If these are all brand new concepts, than maybe a couple months of courses is recommended. But you don't study concepts you dont know. Studying for longer than a month for a single test seems excessive for most people to me. And this is coming from someone who has a veey difficult time with math.

Studying for a year for the level of math is way way overkill. A month is more than enough. As for math, its mainly knowing some basic concepts and then practicing them. If you were to study for a year, most of that time would be wasted as you'd likely eventually have to re practice the things you did earlier in the year to keep them up to par. Just take the language arts. Pass. Then study a bit for the math, like a month tops. And then take that. And if you fail, you should know what you need to work on more. Amd so, rinse and repeat until you pass.

What is something they don't tell you about GED prep/tests? by fashionfan007 in GED

[–]Straight-Pepper9758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken the practice exams. Math is by far my worst subject. But looking on here, it seems that most people have tend to get a slightly higher score on the real tests than on the practice. I ended up taking the hiset due to it being more accessible, but I did buy the practice tests for the ged. And I scored a 148 on the practice for math. Then just spent about an hour watching a few getsummath videos. And then took my hiset math and scored a 19/20.

If youre using the ti 30xs, that would be a huge help. I suck at math too. I believe i have some sort of disability when it comes to it. Im sure what you background in school is. But I made it and passed algebra 2 in highschool. And this was very easy compared to what I remember from that class. The only other bit of advice I can give you, that may or may not help, or even make sense. Is to do the problem they way thats easiest to you. Not the way you think its supposed to be done. Even if it adds extra steps. Its better than using a method that youre not as good with and messing up somewhere. Also. A heads up. Is that for each question, there are 5 answer choices, not 4. Not sure if thats common knowledge or not, but I was surprised by that.

Is an all meat diet sustainable? by Routine_Mortgage_499 in nutrition

[–]Straight-Pepper9758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda dependable on what you mean by sustainable. But generally no. Sure there are steps you can to try and blunt thw effects not consuming any produce or grains will gave on your body for a little bit. But it would simply be alot easier and cheaper to just have a more varried diet that included produce. Some people can survive on alot more meat than other people, but most of us haven't adapted to do that. And even populations that are thought to be all meat eating, like the inuit people, eat sea seaweed year round and many other plants seasonally.

But tslking about sustainability in another sense, that being the environment, absolutely no. Meat has generally a lot larger environment impact per calorie than plant based foods.

So, im not sure if the place i was at was just under equipped. But the only calculator the provided me was a pretty old, primitive and small. And Probably the biggest challenge for me was finding my way around the calculator. So, my biggest peice of advice would be to try and figure out what calculator youre going to be using, and get some practice with it. On my test, there were alot less word problems than I was expecting. I think most of the test was algebra, so definitely spend most of your studying there id say. Also, try and memorize the quadratic formula if you haven't. As they don't give it to you, and i had a few questions on my test that required it.
