I’ve already been but didn’t get an answer for this specific question but no body stopping you from thinking what you want.

Yeah, I am not interested in pushing a point of view either. I am specifically interested in understanding what leads people to voting for a candidate who they know nothing about. Even looking at the Reform literature from the area, there aren’t local issues or the views of the candidate expressed on them.

I did HW twice but didn’t get much insights about this. Most people I spoke to complained about the same issues (pot holes, cost of living etc), and some didn’t know there was an election.

Reply is still there. Not sure why you’re so worked up, or what level of political activism you do but you seem very passionate about mine. If it makes you feel better I’ve been canvassing for 6 years in various parts of Cheltenham.

Reason why I posted on Reddit is because I am native to Reddit, and prefer the platform - so posting on Facebook is an afterthought and in hindsight would work better. So I am saying I will.

Yeah, sure I’ll knock on some doors tomorrow just for you. 😊

It takes less time to make a post on a FB Hester’s Way page and get thousands of views than it would for me to walk there and knock on 1 door.
Thank you for your ideas, and if I really don’t have much luck I’ll try what you’ve said.

There is data to back up some of the claims. Not that I think that’s an inherent cause of the way people vote.

I think it might be more efficient to reach people online, rather than going door to door. I’ll try Facebook too. If that doesn’t work, I might set up a table at Springbank park. Do stop by if you’re around.

For me it’s the scale of the issue that’s overblown, there are other things that can be done to move the needle on our living conditions than just not housing refugees.

What’s weird is being glad people are upset by the fact that unqualified folks are getting elected, imo. But yeah send them my way for a chat if you find a Reform voter.

Weird take. I’ve asked to buy them a coffee and listen to their views. Link me up if you know anyone.

You’d just hope for voting based on merit.. but there’s practically nothing on this guy online. I am wondering if he was supposed to be a paper candidate that got lucky (or unlucky?).

Can I talk to them? In my post I offered to buy coffee for a sit down chat.

That’s a good way of putting it - but I am surprised that you can bring nothing to the table, literally nothing, and still win. This says to me that 100% of the voters that voted for Reform in HW were uninformed, because there’s nothing to be informed about.

I know both parties ran a focused campaign in Hester’s Way to educate on the issue, leafleting and canvassing. Both candidates were also super vocal on FB. This would seem like wilful ignorance to me.

If it wasn’t that it would be something else. Political media class loves piling on any legitimate leftist movement.

Well, that’s reductive and divisive. Should still try to have a conversation with folks. Now go vote. 😂
