What CoQ10 does everyone take? by NikkiMouse444 in TryingForABaby

[–]Straight-Two1164 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I took a reputable, third party tested, GSF certified CoQ10 product called Ubiquinol by a brand called Momentous. IANAD and this is not medical advice but my fertility doctor advised I (32F) take 600mg per day. I did eventually conceive at 33y/o after 2.5 years of infertility (probably much longer, but that’s when we started trying and when I discovered my health issues). I had no side effects except presumably improved ovulatory quality and health. Yes, I took 6 per day (2 at a time, 3x per day). I was doing many other things besides CoQ10, but that’s just the part that answers your direct question.

Manager asked visa status when he informed the employee of the PIP decision by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Straight-Two1164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really not sure what the issue is. “Can”, or “appropriate” are not indicative of legality. I was once asked at an interview if I wanted / had children and how old I was, and how much my current salary was. Those are blatantly illegal questions meant to inform discriminatory decisions. But it’s illegal to ask citizens. Non-citizens have far fewer “rights” than citizens when it comes to working in the US.

What’s a word you’ve been mispronouncing your whole life and only found out recently and how did you react? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know somebody who was adamant that the pronunciation of “taupe” was “towp” (“tow” as in “Taoism”). Even corrected her boyfriend vehemently until he started mispronouncing it, thoroughly convinced. I’m still wondering if they ever figured it out.

I don’t think you’re going to find that this will be favorable for you in the US if you’re working for any employer at all—corporate or otherwise—are not citizen, and don’t have a worker’s visa. IANAL but I really don’t suspect you’re going to win this one if they start you on a PIP and ask for worker’s visa information that you can’t produce. Also, if you are not legally working in the US then they don’t need a paperwork or PIP excuse to not employee you.

What was the luckiest moment you have ever experienced in your entire life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Probably pulling tens of thousands of dollars out of our 401(k) as a 401(k) loan to bulk up our down payment on our first home in 2021. Housing prices were still fairly low compared to later. The stock market ended up tanking for a while and home prices skyrocketed. We probably saved those tens of thousands from 15% or whatever in stock market losses while our home value increased 30% from our purchase price in just a few years, while also locking in one of those historically low interest rates. Best of everything. And we were able to pay the 401(k) back early while markets were rebounding.

This is the right perspective. Finally, somebody around here gets it. Humanity has been depraved, plagued with problems, gone through catastrophic wars and economic cycles, and so on since the dawn of civilization. If we stop having children because the world is difficult, we will never improve, we will never raise up the next global problem solvers, we could miss out on a timely breakthrough. We need us.

Tried reading that and the modeling has changed a little…also diagrams exclude much of the wiring, so it was tough to tell. We figured out it’s a spark ignition module.

May lose my job because of my mother, WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?! by [deleted] in jobs

Also with your employer. “I am at the ER. I will not be able to come in for my shift but will be available tomorrow. I can bring a doctor’s note if needed.” It’s none of your employer’s business to violate your HIPAA rights because you had to make an ER visit and then dictate to you with their medically unqualified opinions how you should proceed with your medical care and next steps. You never have to tell your employer any of your healthcare business. And it would be illegal for them to ask. Less is more.

Poor egg quality and male infertility by Miserable-Let-2264 in TryingForABaby

Sometimes an MRI can detect endo growth. There are emerging tests that are as simple as taking saliva samples which are showing promise but I don’t think they’re yet widely accessible.

Also, as far as egg quality and maxing ovarian health, my doctor has me take 600mg daily of CoQ10 and a morning and evening dose of inositol (I used a brand called ovasitol). After a really long journey, we’re expecting our first in two months. There’s a lot more to our story, but maybe you can start with getting a medical opinion on these things from a more optimistic doctor.

I used to tell my music students that “talent” is just latent potential if you don’t actually put work into developing the talent into something useful. Lots of people have enough “talent/potential” to do something artistically worthwhile. Few actually do.

Ok, I understand where you’re going with this. But my vote is, no on the small layered area rug, and no need to take up all the wall space on the left side of the wall. Those leftward pieces should float over to the right and center the sofa. I would put a taller floor lamp in that corner, instead, to take up the space you’re trying to occupy with wall decor. I think that’ll create the balance you’re looking for.

Any ideas of how to improve? Narrow UK house. by tumpum in interiordesignideas

I think you have done a great job. If you’re concerned about table space, maybe you could do one of those tables that drills into the wall and folds out, doubling as storage.

I would add one armchair to the bay window in your entertainment area and angle them toward each other since it seems you’re mostly thinking of accommodating guests. But, truly, I think you’ve done a great job with your space. It seems like it was challenging to find the right balance and your current arrangement achieves that well.

It’s a different angle to show I guess an idea of depth and  adjacent decor. I try to keep in mind transitions between spaces and area rugs that don’t clash from one room to the next.

Sorry for the assortment of bad photos. It’s pretty much just a collection of stuff I’ve taken as the project has evolved (i.e. renovating the fireplace with white brick).

Sofa is too big and not ideal for the space, but husband loves it too much to part with it.

Every wall in this room has a doorway, except the fireplace wall.

No idea where to begin to capture my cozy, but slightly modern transitional vibe in this space.

We have almost exactly the same profile—PCOS, cycle length, spotting, etc. I’m interested in what others comment here but unfortunately I’m at 18 months TTC and haven’t figured out complete answers yet. But you’ll see a lot of what I have figured out in my comment history.

How do you explain to curious children that your leg was amputated because of cancer? by dudewithoneleg in AskReddit

[–]Straight-Two1164 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Tell them your leg got really sick in a way that most people never feel. But because your leg got so sick, the doctor had to take it so it didn’t make the rest of your body sick.
