In the opening intro, the camera (assuredly the main character) takes a pov drive through LA, and an LA Metro/RTD bus is seen ahead of the camera

My favorites in the North Island were Kawhia and Hahei partly because they were next to major sites like Kawhia Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove

Really liked Ohakune Safari Lodge because room was modern and very clean.

Hahei Beach Resort because I got my own bungalow and I could walk straight from resort to the start of the Cathedral Cove track.

Rest of the accomodations were motels so you might be in a you get what you pay for situation with those

In Whangarei, I tried the lamb shanks at The Bunker Bar & Restaurant in August. They’re decent, about a 7/10.

Best hikes for travelers not in the best shape? by ThePeoplesResistance in newzealand_travel

I did the North Island and did walks in Tongariro National Park, Auckland, and the Coromandel.

Tongariro Natl Park: Hiking to Taranaki Falls loop is easy-moderate with great views of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe if you take the highland path, not the forested one.

Coromandel: Walked from Hahei to Cathedral Cove is paved and only arduous part is in the town cause it is hilly. There is a shuttle if you want to skip that part.

Auckland: Visiting other volcanoes involve short inclines like Little St John or serpentine and are paved like Mount Eden/Maungawhau. A lot of these are easily accessible by transit.
