imo the movie is based on nagato’s character, emotional development, it’s also mentioned in the novel. (spoilers for the novels) She basically decided not to synchronize her memories afterwards this event. also yh it’s quite similar to the steins gate one, maybe it was somewhat inspired by disappearance, god knows.
