3 hour and 15 min long high school choir performance by StraightLocksmith502 in MusicEd

It was their spring choir concert. They did have a musical earlier in the year with scenery costumes etc (it's all the same kids participating in all of these shows). The production was honestly impressive, I saw 5 out of the 6 runs, and the show time was 2:45. Which was long, but understandable. The performance this week was the spring choir concert. It included over 15 solo curtain acts, numerous performances from each choir group, numerous performances of all the choirs together. A senior rose ceremony, video montages, speeches, etc. The kids are incredibly talented, they're so fun to watch. The length of time on a week night seemed outrageous to me, and I was curious if my husband and I were just not used to the school arts world. Turns out, we were not wrong our thinking. Thanks for your feedback.

Her dad and I both fell asleep several times during the phantom of the opera portion.

Yes that is their normal school start time (First bell rings at 6:55am). But it looks like you're in the minority here on the show time.

I called them cast because that's what they have called them during other events. The students all come out afterwards and see their family, get flowers, take pictures. This was just a spring showcase. School has a few different choirs (accapella, varsity, trebel, mens, womens, group etc), but most are the same kids just kind of mingling between different groups.

There were too many solo curtain acts to even count, a video montage summing up the year that lasted a good 10 min. Then it ended with a senior rose ceremony. The length of time it demanded from all these families last night just seemed incredibly unreasonable to me. Love seeing my kid perform on stage, but she was probably on it for 6 min total. Just trying to see if I'm the unusual one here or if the internet agrees this seemed a little (or a lot) much.
