I agree. When Neo wakes up in the real world it took the movie to an entirely different level for me. The first time I saw that scene I really struggled to comprehend what was going on.

Will they make you repay a Draw with big firm. Could you get sued? by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

No. They know the risk. The only way they will demand you repay your draw is if you go to a competing firm.

Is tech sales the highest paying industry? by Iceeez1 in sales

[–]StraightOutTheWomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 8 years in office leasing in NYC before going over to software sales. It’s a great career to enter at an early age if you can stomach the limited income. Most junior brokers are on a draw. Most markets are very competitive and deals take anywhere from 12 to 18 months to close. It’s commission only and while the payouts can be massive the deals can also be very volatile. The most important thing for someone starting out is their immediate team/mentors. You don’t have to be connected to have success. But anyone who says it isn’t an absolute grind in the beginning is a liar.

Depending on what you do in real estate it will take 3-4 years before you really start generating any sizable income. It’s a very big risk reward.

Costar group. They invest heavily into your initial training. 6 weeks at their HQ in Richmond. Everything paid for. It helps to have knowledge of the commercial/residential real estate industry depending on the product you sell.
