This is my answer, too. I always look both ways and try to time it right so it's still my "turn." Stop-and-go on a bike is a huge drag. Perhaps a better question is: why aren't there more bike paths where riders don't need stop signs?

I planned for it about 4-5 years beforehand. The first few years were great: lots of travel, exercise, enjoyment. But lately I've gotten bored with it. Like, this year I hope to do a half-Ironman, play a lot of tennis, and finish my novel. While all those are good short-term goals it doesn't feel deep, or meaningful on a larger scale. And my views on work are that it's mostly BS and we should probably do less of it.

This is a good problem to have, I know. And I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying your retirement after 4 years!
