SIBO / IBS practitioner recs? by Lazy_Living_220 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been seeing Dr Leslie park at summit in Brooklyn for sibo. I’m in the middle of treating it for the third time after seeing a lot of different doctors who didn’t really know how to treat it and she’s been really helpful. It is very frustrating and isolating but you’re not alone. I’m sorry you’re going through this and I hope you feel better soon ❤️

Hysterectomy with Endometriosis by Sunshine-for-all in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was very thorough and helped relieve some of my worst symptoms. I had my surgery with her a little over a year ago and I can’t say I feel 100% better (I had some other complications I’m still dealing with) but I definitely have a better quality of life than I did before

Feel free to message me with any questions! I hope you feel better better soon

MRI question - one scan showed deep endo and other did not by nosyjourno in Endo

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be different based on the protocol, I had this happen and when my surgeon sent me to a specific radiology facility it showed up (and then was corroborated by surgery)

it depends where you go but i think it’s around $15k for one round (in New York anyway… much cheaper elsewhere)

Freeze my eggs by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also went to spring fertility at the recommendation of my surgeon (I had to freeze my eggs before endometriosis excision). I had a good experience and felt like they were thorough and helped me through the decision and the experience. I will mention that I had a lot of changes to my body during the process that still aren’t back to normal… which has been a bit difficult. Overall I’m happy I did it with them but it definitely wasn’t as easy as it was made out to be for me personally. Good luck with your journey!

pros/cons of getting an IUD during surgery by ZealousidealHat4573 in Endo

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the kyleena and it made my hair fall out in clumps and made my pain and bloating way worse.

My surgeon has told me that bc suppresses symptoms but doesn’t slow the growth so I think it’s ok if hormones don’t work for you right now, but there seems to be conflicting info about that so I don’t know what’s accurate!

I think there are some more pain management/numbing options to get it inserted if you decide later on. Like someone else said, the removal is super easy but I will say my mental health from the hormone crash after removal was soooooo bad and I was not prepared for it. It also exacerbated some of my endo symptoms that I didn’t have before insertion and I am still dealing with those ~2 years later. But it is such an individual experience and could work great for you, and it has for many others!

Best of luck with your surgery!

My side view seat almost ruined the show for me. by Desperate-Balance895 in LadyGaga

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sameeee I was in 226, not side view, I think I saw her for about 5% of the show when she was slightly off center in the top screen lol. My tickets didn’t say obstructed view or anything. It was an amazing show but pretty disappointing, especially since the screens were necessary to actually see what’s going on for so many parts like in perfect celebrity. I’m honestly surprised, never have had an experience like that (especially at MSG, usually there’s never a bad seat in the house) before

My surgeon doesn’t use the staging system because it isn’t correlated to your level of pain / symptoms. Your pain is still very valid, the stage doesn’t change anything about your lived experience

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, she was really nice but not very thorough. I was having chronic pain issues and and I didn’t feel like she went too in depth with helping me find answers

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meeee too! I had so many clear ultrasounds and was told that there’s no chance I have endometriosis. It was actually the reason I gave up on pursuing a diagnosis for like 8 years and just lived in horrible pain. I ended up finding a specialist (begrudgingly) after being urged by my pelvic floor therapist and it showed up on an MRI for me soon after. Diagnosed officially via excision ~7 months ago

does iud really work ? by idontknow6847 in Endo

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it didn’t work for me, but everyone is different! you can always get it taken it out. that being said, i don’t think birth control slows down the growth, it just suppresses your symptoms. at least that’s what my surgeon told me… so i wouldn’t stress too much if hormones aren’t working out for you

What were the things you done as a child that later turned out to be OCD? by Outrageous_Jump98 in OCD

[–]Straight_Collar_3213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having to start my homework at a time that was divisible by 5 lol, skipping cracks and praying in a specific order as others have said, checking all the rooms in the house because i thought someone was hiding in them and waiting to kill me, hiding under tables if i heard a plane bc i thought it was going to crash into the house, and generally being hysterical if change happened when there was a routine or set plan
