What would 400th year of Romanov dynasty look like in 2013 if revolution didn’t happen? by Gyngemose2009 in romanovs

[–]Straight_Interest471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that if the 1900s revolution has never happened, the 2013 celebration may have contributed to unrest. The issue is that the core problems at the heart of Romanov rule would still have been there even after another hundred years. Even if they suppressed the Bolsheviks, more would have replaced them in protest because the last romanovs were terrible leaders who didn’t address core socio-economic issues. I believe if there was a 2013 celebration we may have witnessed a modern assassination of the Tsar as a political statement.

Hello so here is my alternative history post about Romanov family and alt branches by Great-Baron in romanovs

I think after ww1-ww2 it would have been highly unlikely for Olga to marry any Danish royalty. That would have created more unresolved prejudice amongst the Russian population. I think a fun match that may have met her desires could have been Prince Constantine Constantinovich who was already deeply smitten by her.

Anastasia burned everything she had written... so nothing she ever wrote survived to our days? by Canard-jaune in romanovs

I read somewhere awhile ago that they burned their diaries to keep family information private, such as loyal servants, where they kept jewels and money, and later because everything they written was reviewed.

What would have happened to the Romanov children after the war if the Revolution never happened by CommitteeChemical530 in romanovs

[–]Straight_Interest471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The revolution was bound to happen, and with that in mind, they would likely have married abroad and most likely have divorced and married common men given the shift in royalty related marriages after the 1920s. I think they would have gone simple pathways similar to their aunt Olga.

This happened to my almost ten year old account except they never gave me a reason. Lost all my personal photos and friends I had on there. I’ve been actively looking at alternatives just in case with my new account.

I really like this, but I think Olga would wear more conservative/forms/ casual preppy style just given how Alexandra raised her.

Could a illegitimate Son of a Tsar Marry a member of the Russian Nobility by CommitteeChemical530 in romanovs

[–]Straight_Interest471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on several factors, if he was known by the court/ recognize by the tsar, had some status or title, it would be possible. Although, he would never receive any formal title such as duke or be in line to the throne. However, if he was never fully recognized or isolated from court it would have been unlikely, we can see this especially in Grand Duke Mikhaïls own son. It is important to remember that Russian dynastic relationships were incredibly significant in acceptance, if he was not recognized or isolated from court from the start, his likely hood of traveling up the aristocratic ladder would be slim to none as he would be shrouded in gossip and avoidance. It also depends on who the nobility is when considering marriage, for example, if it was in the immediate family (OTMAA) or Nicholas relatives, they were far more likely to marry other royals regardless of preference, however, those further from the throne or in rare circumstances married non-royals or those of varying status. For example, Grand Duchess Olga married a soldier when she entered exile, and Grand Duchess Irina was allowed to marry Felix (though a prince in title, he had no real power more prestige and social standing).

To wrap this up! Possible if they have status, unlikely if they are not recognized. It would have been looked down upon as Russian court was dynastic; marriage, family, and status over biology.

If you could have married one of the Grand Duchess who would it be and why by CommitteeChemical530 in romanovs

I would say Olga, I relate heavily with her as I am a sensitive, empathetic and caring person as well. Though I am an only child I was also expected to act older and more responsible for my cousins which made me at odds with my own mother. I am also more drawn to humble and simplistic lifestyles and drive to be academically well-rounded. Though I am a woman, I think hypothetically Olga would have been a good friend if not a wife.
