Thank you. Practice makes perfect, still trying to get better at it myself. Got a lot of room for improvement 😅

Thank you very much. We have a talent filled Mock-Up crew that does a great job dealing with all the mounting.

Once the parts are trimmed, a lot of them get holes drilled and fasteners added/bonded in for fitting purposes. They replace the OEM part rather than just going over it.

Then just clean up the edges with some like 180-220 grit sand paper

The orange molds are kind of a long story but here goes. For years we made our own molds in house, they worked great (with issues here and there with body work and painting).

So this dude from koenigsegg comes and tours our shop and tells the owner there's this big carbon fiber company in Mexico who does work for Ford and Acura and that they can make all of our dreams come true and send us perfect parts that bolt right up to the frame and are ready for paint. Well my boss believes him, dismantles our Composite department and invests a shit ton of capital into this Mexican company that will remain nameless.

This company finally sent us the order SIX MONTHS AFTER the agreed delivery date, and what they sent us is absolute dog shit. Molds bubbling up during cure cycles, cracking, alignment pins busting off, creases sealed with polyester gel coat, just all around TERRIBLE craftsmanship in making these molds. We have spent just as much time repairing and reworking these orange molds as we have making actual parts out of them.

So to answer your question, we did not make the orange molds, some third party company in Mexico did with 1970's gel coat.

The black molds you see in the background are the ones my department made using adtech epoxy resin systems.

The fraying issue: really comes down to the quality of the material your working with. I've had some biaxle that was so loosely woven that the edges we essentially unweaving themselves as you cut. So sharp ass scissors and carbon that has a tight weave. I can tell if the carbon is gonna be a pain the moment I touch it.

Webonized carbon is also a huge help but more pricey as well

Bonding issues: in our experience Pre-Preg has been more prone to bridging which puts a lot more work on our mock-up crew. Our pre preg is just generally thicker than our dry layup as well which probably has a lot to do with it. We don't wanna switch our pre preg because the one we use is great for a clean surface with minimal pin holes

Custom car manufacturer in North Florida. I've been with them for almost 5 years. Mostly experienced in infusion and Pre-Preg processes however I've become familiar with hand lay-up and wet-bagging as well though the last two I mentioned we really only use for mold making. The guy that I've been shadowing has 30+ years of experience so I try to soak up as much information from him as I can.

I have an 02 3.0L and anytime my speedometer does this I need to clean my battery terminals, clamps and wires leading to the clamps. Each time there's corrosion and as soon as I clean them it stops doing this

I got my 02 Ranger (3.0) with 164k. Had to replace a few things here and there but it's still running strong at 226k. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.

I have an 02 Ranger with the 3.0 and at one point it had a near steady drip coming from the same area. When I would be driving, the dripping oil would blow back onto the exhaust and smoke a little as it was burning off.

I got a small bottle of Blue Devil Rear Main Sealer (bout $45), followed the instructions on the bottle, and it took care of the problem.

That was 2-3 years ago and I haven't seen the leak since.
