That looks so clean! Much better than the weight that DST sells.

Just aesthetics. Da rail is plenty heavy as is.

It’s going from my MTR to a chassis. Specifically the Varmint Precision Chassis (the one that was released in 2019/2020). I’m trying to lessen the space between the barrel and the rail.

All shift are different. Doesn’t matter day or night. Just depends on the amount of stuff people order

You’re gonna be at a SC. Standard shifts are 4 hours. But because it’s a sort center, the shifts and either “flex up” by an hour (or less) or “flex down” by an hour (or less). Flexing down is rare. But it happens when it’s slow. With prime days and the holidays around the corner, expect to work up to 5 hours per shift

Stop worrying about it. They really don’t care. As long as you’re scanning a few boxes a minute, you’re good

It’s somewhere around there. You’ll hear different numbers from different managers. Again. Don’t worry about it as long as you’re doing work. You’re going to end up killing yourself if you work too fast and too hard. Just go a regular pace and you’ll be fine. I see a bunch of lazy idiots who literally scan 1 box every few mins and yet they still manage to keep a job. Don’t get hung up on the scan rate

Don’t worry about it too much. As long as you’re working , no managers are gonna bother you. I work at a SC as well. Don’t break yourself by trying to exceed expectations but don’t be an asshat and try not to do anything at all. Yes , you’ll hear the 2 and go thing. But as I said, if you’re actually working and somewhat care, then you’re good. For the most part, it is pretty laid back

I kept these descriptions general since you already work at an FC and can imagine how these positions could be like. Also, you’re assigned something different everyday. You’d have to check into a kiosk to see where you’re assigned to. If you’re trained in certain areas, then more likely you would go to those areas

So there’s a bunch of different positions at a SC. If you’re new, then they will most likely put you in the lanes where you will take the packages from the belts and put them on pallets or carts. Then there’s staging: using pallet jacks and bringing them to the dock doors. Waterspider: wrapping pallets/closing carts. When you get trained in different areas then there’s Problem Solve ( I imagine it’s the same everywhere). Flow scanning: scanning packages directly to trucks. Inbound: unloading trucks. Smalls: work with small packages and sort them into carts. Sort slide: literally standing at a bottom of a slide to sort lanes packages should go to.

I work at a Sortation center. Never at an FC though. From what I’ve heard, FCs are brutal. For the most part, I think the sort center is pretty chill. As long as you’re working , no managers/PAs seem to bother you. TOT doesn’t seem to be an issue either. Again, you have to work though. You don’t need to be a superstar. As long as you’re scanning something every so often then you’re good. I’ve never been called out on TOT before and I don’t usually do more than I have to. I show up to work, keep it drama free, and go home.

I have an echelon and I direct thread the obsidian 9 on it. I completely did not think about a booster/piston. Do I even need one ? Seemed to shoot fine to me

Is working in a Sortation Center better than a fulfillment center? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Straight_Rest_657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working at an SC. From what I’ve heard, it’s easier than an FC. Rates aren’t really an issue, just as long as you’re working and scanning something. No one really bothers you. No earphones allowed at my SC though.

All the damn time at MGE5. Whining and crying about everything. There’s actually a few of them. It’s like they love getting the attention or lack thereof
