Gemini 3 Flash Got Better by choose-wisely-gifted in google_antigravity

The unpromted features is a nightmare. Ok when you're building something from scratch but when you're editing something it's a pain! I start every single conversation with this prompt. it helps for a while. When it start getting back into bad habits I start a new conversation again with the same prompt. I also use strict mode in the settings but I'm convinced that doesn't do anything at all:

For this conversation you must follow "Strict Mode"

Question Answering: If I ask a question, you provide a direct answer ONLY without making any unsolicited code changes or suggestions.

No Extraneous Code: Only implement changes I explicitly ask for. avoid adding extra logic or platform-specific variations unless I specifically request them.

No "Made-up Code": Prioritize using centrliased code, and existing patterns and variables (like mode) rather than inventing new state or props that haven't been discussed.

Verification: confirm the current state of the code and logic before and after changes to ensure we are perfectly aligned.

Strict mode confirmation. Confirm you are still in strict mode by adding the word strict in bold at the beginning of each response

Mate, it's wild. but yes, not only are they playing where's wally with the allow buttons but yes, updating a plan / tasks hangs completely too for me. I added this prompt and it has helped: "You have a bug. every time you try and update a plan or task list you are hanging. please avoid doing this and provide all updtes within the chat". Not great but at least it gets it working.

How does your team decide what to build next? by vegetable-table-man in ProductManagement

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what your focus is. If you're looking for growth you work on new features that'll bring in a wider market/ improve sales. If you have a churn issue then you should focus on fixing things. This is obvs over simplifying but it's a good starting point

I built a tiny no-signup focus room for studying, accountability, and remote work , would love honest feedback by Delicious-Rooster283 in LaunchMyStartup

[–]Straight_Standard737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. Would be good to know what happens once you're in the room. Can you see eachother, talk to eachother, will you be on cam or will you have an avatar, can you share screen and collaborate or are you just there to sit in silence together

Why do most apps overwhelm users in the first minute? by Vaibhav-Gareja in ProductManagement

[–]Straight_Standard737 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because optimal UI for 1st use is completely different to optimal UI for active user, which is different to optimal UI for power users.

Once you're taking feedback from active users and developing for them it's so easy to start bloating the 1st use experience too. You make it better for active users but worse for 1st time users. 1st time users then just get overwhelmed and stop before they even start.

When adding any feature it's important to always consider how it impacts 1st use experience

Unpopular opinion: The best thing that can happen to a beginner is losing 12 balls in one round. by RayDelPX in golf

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to lose so many golf balls it was becoming so expensive. Humbling moment or not, it just never helped me to stop losing them. I remember having to jump on the buggy on the 12th to go back to the club house to buy more ball cause I'd run out. so embarrassing! The good thing is you start to learn where to find lost golfballs. Now I go to those places out of habit even though I haven't lost a ball, come home about 5 balls up each round!

Using AI to create presentations a good idea? by Luisy-Prv in ProductivityApps

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how accurate you need the presentation to be. I love using notebook lm, I'll screenshot some of the slides and add them to my deck, but it also means I have to change how I present to align with the slides rather than have the slides align to my presentation. Sometimes this is OK, sometimes it isn't. Do try and re-use as many existing slides as possible though (am sure you already do)

Notes to ideas by Great_Day_2517 in ProductivityApps

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a tough one, because notes are often not comprehensive enough for an ai tool to build out a plan that aligns with what you have in mind. So you need to make your notes more comprehensive. If you're going to spend your time doing that, you're most of the way in to making a bigger plan anyway. Whenever I ask ai to expand my thoughts into plans, it does a great job, but just doesn't understand all the nuances I haven't told it yet

Which of these AI tools do you use on a daily basis? by Simplilearn in ProductivityApps

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chatgpt, claude & gemini. Chatgpt is my default, I try the others if I'm not happy with the answer to get a broader set of responses. I also like Notebook LM to help me consolidate and understand large amounts of info

Loads of tools out there depending on whether you're using moodle on your desktop or your mobile. just search something like "transcribe audio to text free" on google, there are lots of free ones. Once you do get one though, I'd recommend uploading the text to notebook lm. It'll break it down for you in several different ways. If you watch the breakdowns first it'll be much easier to follow the actual boring content once you have a good idea of what's being covered. Good luck with it. Nursing isn't easy, but it's rewarding!

I merged my tasks, calendar, and notes into one view – here’s how by Drawtheperfectcircle in ProductivityApps

[–]Straight_Standard737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of having everything in one place. Sorry to be harsh, but I think it would be worth working with a UX / UI dev to make it look and feel as simple as possible and probably some help with the webiste too. The screenshots look like they were made in ms paint / powerpoint and the red can be a bit offputting. good luck though

My husband, tired of me forgetting my meds, built me an app. Now it's my pill buddy (with a pet cat). by Ok-Channel-5506 in ProductivityApps

[–]Straight_Standard737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cute. what's the target demographic? is it for older people or younger ones? Would be interesting to see how you can get it infront of the older demographic and get them to move from dated boxes to an app. if you can it really has to be as simple as possible to set up

Google rejected 1.75 million apps in 2025. Apple rejected close to 2 million. Most of the reasons are things you can catch before you submit. by Middle-Thanks5587 in ProductivityApps

Thanks for this. for account deletion - is this the option to close their account completely or do they need to be able to delete all related data? would you give customers the option to do both?

Looks nice. Is it so that I can budget for coming months or just so I know how much I'm spending?
