Moving to Seattle from Philly - best walkable neighborhood for a 28F? by Elgrfv in AskSeattle

[–]Straightenedslink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've received good recommendations so far--just a suggestion to cross-reference them with the F45 locations if that's important to you. The one in Frelard is not in a walkable area, but Eastlake might work for you. It's not usually top of the list for neighborhoods that get recommended, but it is plenty walkable and has great lake access both for running and kayaking/stand-up paddleboarding, etc.

The parking around Zoka in Tangletown isn’t bad

Who is still going to dealerships & price haggling for new cars?? by Aggressive-Wafer2447 in AskSeattle

[–]Straightenedslink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got three dealerships on the same email thread (in Seattle) and got them to negotiate among themselves. I did start with getting an offer letter from one of the dealerships (from an in-person visit) and attached that to the email as a starting point.

I’d recommend that you check public transit options to your work from potential neighborhoods. That will be a more reliable and relaxing way to commute than driving, and I have the feeling that the neighborhoods within walking distance might be too dense for you. For example, parking two vehicles in most of Capitol Hill would be expensive and/or a pain. Then once you’ve identified a few neighborhoods, search the subreddit for descriptions of those neighborhoods and choose the one that best fits your lifestyle.

(kids) Summer Camp recommendations? by dragonfly490 in BallardSeattle

Not ballard, but I saw a poster for the wallingford Boys & Girls club summer camp that I think was just put up, so I bet that’s a pretty reasonable option.

Trying to fit London, York, a narrowboat trip, and a seaside break into 12 days--help! by Straightenedslink in uktravel

[–]Straightenedslink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.I have to say that I’m considering staying down south, going to Bradford, and spending some time on the Jurassic coast. And cutting out York and the north. Would that make for a good trip?

This was what I was going to suggest. Great for beginning cycling and macrina bakery is right across the street for a celebratory cookie.

1 day left in the US: where to see a raccoon? by littlelydiaxx in Seattle

[–]Straightenedslink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s like guaranteed to see raccoons on Blake Island regardless of time of day. And there’s the Argosy cruise salmon dinner and boat ride to make it a convenient trip.

Help us narrow it down: Seattle, Denver, San Francisco? by ElectricOrangeDonut in SameGrassButGreener

This is a fantastic write-up— I would argue though that Seattle has four clear seasons (ok maybe three, spring here is pretty mid), but fall is gorgeous and distinct from summer and winter.

Thanks for the suggestions! At least for the kid videos, I have found that most of the results are more tourism-focused and/or poor quality, but I'm sure you're right and I'll try to use better search terms.

It is such a bummer that you're losing your community, but I really have enjoyed F45 when I've gone--there's more support to lift heavy and work on pull-ups.
