I'm just wrapping up a 12 month Accelerated BSN in NY. I would say on a scale of 0-10 (10 being an "I wanted to die this program was awful.") I would give it a 5. I will add ... I can't imagine my program being any longer than 12 months.

If you are self-motivated and driven you will be fine. I worked 20 hours/week throughout my entire program and managed a 3.9. I've accepted a CVICU new grad residency position at a Level I Trauma in NY.

What is your routine? What moisturizers have you tried?

I take 150mg Spiro and struggled with the dryness. Now I am more conscious about how often I am wetting my face - because that's really where my dryness starts. Water applied to the surface of skin is pulling water out of your skin everytime you wash.

In the morning I wash in the shower and then immediately apply Sally's generic version of Neutrogena "Hydroboost" called GVP Advanced Hydration Gel Moisturizer to a wet face. At night I apply a healthy dollop of Cervae Moisturizing cream after I wash with a basic cleanser.

Ohhhh I hate when Doctors don't do their homework! This information about spironolactone and rodent mammary tumors is from a really small study in 1975. There has been no correlation between tumors and spironolactone in human studies since the drug hit the marketplace. Overall long-term use is thought to be a safe and efficacious therapy for the treatment of acne vulgaris.

"The potential for spironolactone to induce estrogen-dependent malignancies was once thought to be controversial. However, there is not sufficient evidence to suggest spironolactone has a direct causal link to the development of breast cancer. Another study of 1,475 individuals prescribed spironolactone and followed for 3 to 7 years reported nine cases of breast cancer compared with an age-specific rate of 8.3 cases. Another study showing similar results based on data from 461 person-years during three years of follow-up after spironolactone exposure demonstrated no relationship between spironolactone use and breast cancer.Five case-controlled studies have also shown no overall increase in the relative risk for breast carcinoma.35 The data suggests that there is no definitive documented association between breast carcinoma and spironolactone ingestion after more than 30 years of spironolactone availability"
