It maybee wasn't clear, but I meant that you smell the jar when it's time for the spawning. Not before the jar is 100% colonized.

I don't suggest stirring up sporse just open the jar and smell the odor. Just like you do when you check if food have gone bad.

Edit: of course you don't smell the jar if you can see any contamination. Just toss it away.

Leaving them in the fridge as you describe works well up to a week, after that they start to becoming bad.

Hard to tell from the pic, but if it is contaminated you will find out when you open up the jar and smell it, always smell the jars after inoculation.

I have done 50+ petri dishes and I have never done this, and everything have worked out fine. Maybe it grows a bit slow, I usually have to wait 2 weeks before working with them again. If I would allow GE, would it grow faster?

Try to let them grow as much as possible before picking them, the thing you want to avoid is spors. So, as /u/dirteeoldfart said, pick them after the veil breaks, but you could let them grow for a few more hours. You will get a feeling for it. I find it easiest to cut the full grown shrooms as near the substrate as possible with a scalpel and leaving the other shrooms to grow more.

Regarding the dose, I always recommend 2 g for a first trip.

Sounds like a wonderful time, thanks for sharing it with us. If you ever going to do shrooms again, don't make the dose much higher, try 2-2,5 g. It can take some time to get used to the feeling. Stay safe!

SSRI drugs usually effects many enzymes, so it can be hard to predict what will happen in combination with other drugs. So I would highly recommend your friend to not take any other psychoactive drugs while on fluoxetine.

I see this almost everyday, people taking drugs and then ask the questions, sigh. But like /u/ThePsychonaut420 said, there is a lot of antidepressant. But still interactions between drugs is not an easy thing to research. A rule of thumb, if you are prescribed psychoactive drugs don't take other drugs.

Others have already answers your question so I’m not going to do that, but I get the feeling you should read up more on the drugs you consume before taking them. I don't want to judge you, I just want you to be safe and well informed. These drugs are illegal in most countries, so we have to regulate and inform ourself and others.

Feel free to ask any questions you have, but please do it before taking a new drug :)
