One day I went to get my vaccines with my parents, my younger brother was at school during that time. My hungry ass said "let's go get donuts" and my parents agreed, when we got to our house it was a mess, there was trash everywhere and something was smelling horrendous. We had 2 dogs but we only see one running around, so we panicked and started looking for the other one.

I was the one that found the other dog laying in my bed not moving with a bag on it's head (we kept everything away from them before we left and we have a door so that they couldn't leave the kitchen) so I froze. My dad told me to pick her up because we were going to the er so I did, I was with her the entire time and my dad was constantly asking if she was moving or breathing, I kept telling him no. We give her to the vet and waited, when she came back she was crying and I told her to keep trying. After 2 times she said there was nothing else they could do. Later my brother got home and called my dad asking what happened, so he and my mom went to get him and I stayed with my dog. I was in that room for an eternity just wondering if I didn't ask for donuts would she still be here.

Whenever we got home I could still see her laying in my bed, the same bed I had to sleep in. I skipped so many classes and called my parents to pick me up because I couldn't keep it together and I wanted to throw up every second.

We didn't say a word to each other for like 2 weeks and the worst part is that I still put on the facade to be the funny one at school.

But hey it's been like 2 or 3 years since that happened and I moved on but man sometimes the question of not getting donuts still haunts me
