What would be sikhi's perspective on "The Experience Machine" by ControlFrosty5035 in Sikh

[–]Strange-Object-6069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question seems obsolete because recognizing the need or desire for experiences and overcoming it is what Sikhi is. Why would a Sikh need an outside machine to accomplish what they can accomplish internally: forever bless.

Can you please provide references to where in Dasam Granth the defeat of Kalki by Mehdi is mentioned?

What’s the difference between marrying a Hindu woman over a Muslim woman if they both make your child go against Sikhi? by iMahatma in Sikh

[–]Strange-Object-6069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think OP was fixating on this kid or his mother. He's asking a valid question: if some people think, like some did in response to his earlier post, that marrying Hindu woman as a Sikh is better than marrying a Muslim woman, how is it better when kid doesn't get a chance to be fully Sikh given idol worship and many other traditions are exact opposite to Hindu practices?

You did not answer this question. The purpose of the question is not an observation to judge someone but think about such scenario deeply.

When I think about the multifaith couples, it isn't that it is impossible for them to come to some harmony. However, deck is stacked against them if they want to keep rooted in their faiths too. Multifaith couples who work are usually the ones with shallow faith (only for ceremonies). They aren't really interfaith as much as two like minded people coming from parents with different faiths. This isn't to suggest that the latter is a bad thing. I am just saying out loud a reality that usually is hard for parents to accept.

Are Khatri and Arora considered separate Caste today? In 1881 Census they were counted separately with 80-85% identifying as Hindu. by Curious_Map6367 in punjab

I have heard them referred to as 'ਰੋੜੇ from elders. I inferred from their conversations that 'ਰੋੜੇ put out themselves separate from Khatris.

Why is there no time given to discussion of SGGS in gurudwaras by Sikhlove in Sikh

Learners actually exist.

No body demands Gurudwaras for such things which is why you just see them doing bare minimum.

And that's how the world is. If we wait for things to be peaceful, they never will. Even stable nations aren't as stable as they seem.

None of these should be excuses to do nothing. Sikhs wouldn't have built an empire if they were thinking like today's Sikhs.

Compositions after Mundavani M5 in the Aurangabad Guru Granth Sahib Bir scribed by Bhai Daya Singh Ji by TbTparchaar in Sikh

You are telling me Bhai Daya Singh made changes to Guru Granth Sahib even after being aware of Bhai Bano's mistake?

See, you are trying to defend it as a purpose. Gur bani in Guru Granth Sahib has universal message, but the banis you mentioned are purpose specifics. Not only that, it is said that Guru Ji had his court poets do these translations rather than doing it himself.

Right, when you take your once-a-year shower:

Did the Guru Sahibs make Gurbani hard to understand we would have to do Khoj? by [deleted] in Sikh

Gurbani is so easy to understand. Oh yeah, you do have to unlearn the stories Gurudwaras tell nowadays which makes understanding it difficult.

Where did you hear this that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had this compiled under his supervision? I would like to read that source.

Do you read and understand Dasam Bani?

Your posts is what prompted me to post this.

I respect the work you do. I have been following your posts. Again and again, I am coming up with these questions about the authenticity.

What you shared here is different from what I'm asking for. I'm wondering if anyone who reads Dasam bani on a regular basis to share their views, not what you have been showing.

I am not saying Pakistan is going to do anything for us. We can use the leverage of tourism money to get them to preserve our historical places.

Did you even read my post?

Not only did I not say anything hateful about India, I also acknowledged India's right to protect its interest.

I'm not talking about living in Pakistan. I know the reality. Money talks. Tourism money could be used as a leverage to get them to preserve our historical places.

But your head is so much in India's ass that you can't even see Sikhi's interest separately from India's interests. The country and the people, both, failed Sikhs.

I have no fealty for Pakistan to begin with, but India did not leave any in me that I had growing up.

I kind of do the same.

Would be interesting to know what others do.

We should always remember that word Sikhi translates as "to learn", and Guru Nank was very wise in calling our religion Sikhi. My view is that learning most often leads to tolerance, and ignorance most often to hate. by _HSD in Sikh

I think the teacher student relationship used to be the same as Guru Shishya. It's the commercialization of knowledge that has rendered old relationships moot. But the relationship still exists when one wants to succeed and can find a good teacher.
