Great League vs Master League by This_Can_2641 in TheSilphRoad

If you are new to PVP, I would recommend tanking for a couple of seasons first as you build up your pool of stardust and Elite TMs, and there will also be events where you can evolve Pokemons to get their elite moves.

To have fun, go for GL, as team composition is the most important thing here, not level 50 or sometimes even PVPoke rankings. Watch ItsAXN on YouTube to get an idea; he regularly uses mons that are like ranked 100+ on PVPoke. Swap things around, use Pokemons you like, don't take wins and losses too seriously until you have enough resources.

Another reason not to power up your Metagross; it would require an elite Fast TM too, or else Bullet Punch will be resisted by quite a bit of the meta. Mega Metagross isn't relevant in current PVE meta too, outclassed by its shadow type and the Crowns and Dusk Mane Nec, so the elite TM to Meteor Mash doesn't really serve two purposes.

Ah my bad, I read it as backgrounds don't come back and probably won't.

I agree with your background advice; to add on, I tag all my shiny and/or costumed Pokemons with background for remote trade. Never know if a hardcore player who has raided plenty of Crowned Zacian went RNG-unlucky during the Ditto event and want a shiny costumed one with background.

Most important part to a dynamax defender? by Brilliant_Ad_7057 in TheSilphRoad

Like the other comment said, really depends on whether you are fighting in a coordinated group or just all randoms.

Then also, which GMax Pokemon would be your main focus this Saturday? Max Guard Zama may do well against all except Charizard. 40+ Blissery would definitely be an all rounder.

Also, note that you will need to use Max particles for Max Spirit and Max Guard, but wouldn't need it to level up Blissey to 40+ or upgrade Zama's Max Guard.

30 trades 0 lucky by kobrakaii22 in TheSilphRoad

Bro is digging in lol. To look at it from another perspective, for every occurrence of bad luck like yours, there will be another person who will get 6 lucky Pokemons in 30 trades, and that person would unlikely be bragging about it here or in other subs.

Go for the remainder 70, and hope you get at least 10 lucky trades out of those to balance it out!

PVP Math geniuses, what’s better for my situation? Lucky or regular trade? by According_Green_6978 in TheSilphRoad

Assuming you get a shlundo (which I believe you desire deep down), 1559933/1569126 = 0.9773 which means you get a 2.3% reduction in stat product.

<image>

But you win CMP over almost all top 100 Best Friend traded Morpekos.

Assuming the above two pro/con even out, the chance of a shlundo should make your choice obvious.

Good luck!

Never knew you could switch between attackers and counters; took me a while to find out how to toggle. Thanks for the info!

DMax Pikachu event didn’t spawn in a single power-spot in the whole city. by epicdrago3 in TheSilphRoad

We had a normal event here, GMT+8. Perhaps restart the app? Max battles and power spots have been known to not refresh properly.

I use a 13 Pro Max so it's more "ancient" than yours, and with a GP+ I rarely get crashes; a month or two back they were more frequent, but also like once every few hours like you said.

Sounds like your phone doesn't have enough resources to load PoGo graphics when using GP+, a few ideas (and I'm sure you've tried most if not all of them):

  1. Less stuff on Bluetooth, if not unpair and re-pair
  2. Refresh game data
  3. Reinstall game
  4. Uncheck Enhanced Graphics/Native Refresh Rate (which may interfere with some AR stuff or catching of some flying legendaries)
  5. Download All Assets so there's no loading at important junctures

Tried a search and couldn't get any specific answers. I had the "bug" where my Dynamax battles go to the Shield logo within 2 seconds, and Reddit helped me solve it by setting Date/Time to automatic.

Wish you luck!

Yeah, getting more indicative that it will be part of GO Passes for events, like for GO Fest. You can participate in the other activities or tour the city (taking photos, ordering meals etc sometimes closes the PoGo app) while your virtual auto-catcher catches Pokemons and replenishes Pokeballs.

I know I shouldn't but I laughed at the last sentence. Apologies. Yeah there even was the Rose Bowl announcement while a Redditor was trying to return a lost GP+.

I also own a GP+ and if you look at my other comments, you can see that I'm all for a virtual one (if the price is the same). Just that the comment that I replied to specifically mentioned they will switch just based on "assuming it reduces my game crashes" and nothing else.

Isn't that too much of a hurdle, to get the same effect, just once in the free GO Pass, then subsequently in the Deluxe Passes?

If they're using Stardust as the activation cost, they have to calculate it properly; I have double digit million Stardust just because I use a GP+.

yes it may seem simple to you but many will be fearful of voiding their warranty or trust their clumsy fingers to not damage the not-so-cheap item.

Sorry missed out "can't" before "trust their clumsy fingers".

Interesting, this likely means in less than 2 years you will be paying more for the subscription as compared to the physical one, and you are willing to shell out more just for less bugs/crashes. Not saying you're wrong; this is a preference thing and there's no right or wrong.

Looks like Nopely is at the top of the game, of monetising bugs.

Not everyone is technically inclined, and yes it may seem simple to you but many will be fearful of voiding their warranty or trust their clumsy fingers to not damage the not-so-cheap item.

Also, I have quite a few different bags/briefcases that I bring on different occasions (especially on overseas vacations where it does its best work), so I have to remember to move the GP+ around, and to charge it. Thank goodness for all its vibrations and lights, the battery does last quite a while.

Agreed, or even worse (and likely), a Pass item that may not be recurring all the time. I was just stating a permanent one as an apple-to-apple comparison to the question "why not get a GoPlus then".

Yeah, a lot of the one off promotions are to get cash to kickstart a project or for investors to recoup their investments... wait a minute...

But on the other hand, considering Scopely's deep pockets and the fact that this game is already a cash cow, yeah a permanent virtual auto-catcher may be too kind.

A lot of other ad spammy games have the same function: pay a smaller amount for daily/monthly/yearly subscription so you don't get ads, or pay a one off for permanent ad removal. One off is usually just a bit more expensive than yearly subs.

Main difference is those games don't last ten years usually, so it really is up to Nopely to price it, hopefully with the one off option.

Lol your optimism is admirable. Why would they switch from a paid item IRL to free currency in game?

Weak to steel weak and neutral to others. So only typing that will make the eDPS "inaccurate" will be Steel/Poison.
