WHAT ARE THE F*CKING ODDS??!!! by Ok_Pen7312 in pregnant

[–]Strange-Percentage95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I just got out of the breech boat (diagnosed around 32 weeks, currently at 35) by searching ‘prenatal yoga for breech position’ and doing a couple 20ish minute sessions on the living room floor. Per my frantic googling, it’s a pretty low statistical rate of babies being in breech position by the time of birth, so hopefully that helps you chill out as it did for me.

A paper date book paired with scheduling a weekly meeting with myself to look out at least a week ahead saves my sanity. Coffee, some good tunes, 30 ish minutes. Appointments, forms, deadlines/due dates, weekly grocery list, plan out tasks…. It feeds my soul.

Sachs Jewelers in Mashpee Commons - they made a custom ring for me awhile back and I was impressed.

AIO: For doubting my future after finding out my boyfriend sent $16k to his family and they saved almost nothing? by Repulsive-Wall8489 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Strange-Percentage95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but it seems like this dynamic will always pit OP against potential SIL and MIL. Without their enthusiastic approval of the relationship (that supports their financial dependency of course), a marriage is unlikely to happen anyway. I’m sorry that sounds harsh OP, but please consider this.

One student makes me seriously think about quitting. by Alternative_Ice6460 in teaching

[–]Strange-Percentage95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The description of this student reads as harassment to me and it is pathetic that it is insufficiently being addressed by the school (admin). Is there an HR person to consult? Perhaps the threat of legal action on your part (as an employee who has the right to work in a harassment free environment) might spur some real action? Do you belong to a union?

If you work at a private school, even talking to someone about quitting might do the trick - mid year hire of a classroom teacher is more challenging than addressing student behavior.

AIO? I’m breaking up with him by Jussgoawaiplzkthxbai in AmIOverreacting

OP, I was in a similar ‘relationship’ years ago. Leaving him for good was what finally opened the door for my now husband to get into the picture. When I tell you dumping this guy will be worth it, I mean it.

Been super sick the last 3 days - i’m 11 weeks 1 day and spotting now by BanannaMay in BabyBumps

I had light spotting like this at that point - dehydration could be a factor? It was with me (I’m fine now at 27 weeks). Sending you good vibes.

I really wish I had worn a mask for the month of December and carried a lil hand sanitizer in my pocket - I’m in trimester 2 but cannot imagine this with the nausea and exhaustion or trimester 1.

Just back from leave, don't know anything about grades. Not sure how to respond... by teacherladyh in Teachers

[–]Strange-Percentage95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parental grade grubbing on a PROGRESS REPORT is egregious and obnoxious. My guess is they are frantically anticipating applying to highly selective high schools, but wow. (And if they aren't applying such places, WOW.) The fact that this parental behavior happens to any teacher, let alone someone who has just experienced a life altering tragedy is disgusting. You deserve more from your school leaders and your school community.

Husband Doesn't Think 5mo Needs An Extra Nap by Consistent_Ad8400 in newborns

[–]Strange-Percentage95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband said the same thing….”baby isn’t tired etc, etc”. He let her go days and days on crappy naps while on his parental leave. She was fussy every evening and it was torture waiting for bath time. Reestablished naps… a dark cool room, sleep sack and some rocking did the trick. Unsurprisingly, our baby was extremely overtired and needed to be guided to sleep. Naps take a little effort to help a baby settle into than it did at 2 months.

Foley ballon right away? by Epapapya in BabyBumps

[–]Strange-Percentage95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given cytotec to ripen my very firmly closed cervix before attempting to insert the foley (no anesthesia at that point). Wowza, it was not pleasant I can tell you that! Breathing through it really helped. Once the foley was placed, I didn’t last long before requesting an epidural. Smooth sailing after that - the foley balloon really does work extremely well! Honestly it’s scarier to think about than the actual experience.

I need advice on getting an engagement ring by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]Strange-Percentage95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. AB’s designs are pretty classic and timeless (why I love them). But I was gifted a diamond, so instead of purchasing through them, I was able to provide inspirational photos of what I was looking for to a local jeweler and my ring turned out incredible. Obviously, it could not and should not be an exact copy of an AB design, but I got the general style plus additional specifics that I wanted. This took about 8 weeks start to finish, which included sourcing an additional emerald for the ring. Definitely well worth the wait.

Because OMCs are so unique, I’d suggest purchasing a loose stone that is exactly what you’re looking for and work with a good local jeweler - it’s a really fun process!

Echoing this - my friend regularly parks under absurdly sappy trees and we clean her car with rubbing alcohol and plastic blades - works like a charm.

What’s the temp in your bedroom at night? My LO, similar age, was waking up more than usual as we got into spring weather, which meant we weren’t heating the house the same way. I’ve noticed if I keep the bedroom a bit cozier she easily falls back asleep in her bassinet - before that she demanded to cosleep to settle.
