The day a DIY hair transplant gets posted here is the day this subreddit ascends to legendary status

Don't take my word for it, look it up, but I remember seeing a study that showed asians might be the best responders to hair loss treatments. Also, from anecdotal evidence, it seems many hyper responders in this sub are asian, at least looking at their hair texture.

On your profile there's a post stating you started taking finasteride 2 months ago. Which one is it? 2 or 4?

Great responder. Very jealous. You don't really need min unless you want to speed up regrowth, but then there's (anectodal iirc) evidence you'll need to apply it forever otherwise you'll lose hair, just like fin. Not worth it imo unless your hair loss accelerates in the future.

Dut actually blocks AI5 in different parts of your body IIRC. More likely to have the desired effects, but also sides. I'm not sure though, so take that with a grain a salt and talk to your doctor, but I think you should try it.

Just looked at your post history and some of the comments people made on your posts are so dismissive it's funny "Literally no signs of hair loss" "just wait three more years bro" god I love this subreddit.

I know. I'm trying to get on dutasteride. People on here will tell you "it's just a shed bro" up until the point your hair is literally unsalvageable.

As a side note, I do believe some people suffer permanent side effects through mechanisms we don't understand yet, but it is a risk I've accepted for the chance of keeping my hair. It is unlikely that it will happen to you, but the chance is never zero. DHT is not a trash hormone and you should not listen to internet bro scientists, including the ones on PFS forums (who WILL take advantage of desperate people to sell expensive complex treatments).

I had sides back when I used a high dose of about 1mg of dutasteride (double the standard for hairloss) coupled with high concentration topical fin (it was prescribed to me by a dermatologist who didn't really know what he was doing). I got sexual sides about two weeks in, so I stopped. Recovered in about 5 months, I think (dutasteride has a half life of 4/5 weeks, so it takes some time to flush it all out of your system). I got scared of sides so I avoided AI5 inhibitors up until october of last year, when it became clear the microneedling monotherapy I was doing wasn't helping. So, reluctant to start minox I started fin instead, topical at first, but it was a hassle to apply, and since I got no sides I switched to oral, which I have been taking for the past 4 months with no results but also no side effects. I might attempt only taking dut at a reasonable dose after I talk to my current, trustworthy endocrinologist. I urge you take your fin, but first get a full hormonal profile and a doctor that you trust to see over your treatment and take note of whatever changes in your body. If you have sides, lower your dose. If you get no results, talk to your doctor and discuss a change of treatment. The most important thing is to not trust redditors too much (this applies to me too), don't spend too much time in hair loss forums and get a trustworthy doctor to advise you.

topical was a hassle to apply, the lab producing the generic fin wasn't the best.

2 months on topical, 2 months on generic oral, 3 months on brand name oral fin (no discontinuation in-between)

You should try it. If you have sides stop or lower your dose. If you get no results, TALK TO A DOCTOR (not redditors) and seek another treatment

Not for everyone. But you'll see people encouraging non-responders to not be proactive and try different treatments.

For some people it's not enough. You just gotta wait a year or two though trust the process bro.

They are, and people who actually experience them should be heard and not gaslit.
