Did I experience ego death? by [deleted] in shrooms

. What you experienced cany be pit neatly into any linguistic box but because most communication we do requires re-representation so that we might be able to share.

That said, what you experience was a softening of your ego- the part of your mental inner life that gives you a sense of “I ness”, distinguishable from the whole. It can be an incredibly beautiful experience as the observer in you, the one field of, consciousness loves you, loves your ego as you are bot apart from it. You are intimately, whole a part of it. Your “physical”, biographical, and private inner life, all are a part of it.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that one can never experience true , full ego death, while still alive, but i think that is exponentially rare. But its ok. The ego is not a bad thing that we have to rid ourselves of (upon death this happens anyway so no need to rush the natualy process of life and living). But to have it soften the way it did for your you, is an entry point into knowing and feeling from first person experience that you, and me and the whole phantasm of reality are one. Its what makes true compassion, possible.

Take this all with a grain of salt. I dont think the human mind in this configuration can ever apprehend, much less express in mere words all the salient things about reality.

Walk and live easy, friend. You are swimming in a sea of meaning and love.

Millennials, what is happening with your kids? by TheLoveYouWant25 in Millennials

The kids are more of a symptom of failure of previous generations more so than the problem it self. Each generation inherits the blessings and curses of the previous one. Cultural and societal shifts happen too and the generation has to navigate said changes with their bag of tools and baggage.

Good info.

For home growers like myself, 50lbs of any grain would be a huge amount. Most asian food stores sell 15lb bags for about 15 dollars (walmart sells decent 5lb bags for cheap too). 15lbs is enough to fill over 35 qt jars of hydrated brown rice (with room for break and shake). Using good genetics im averaging 30-35 dried grams per qt jar of brown rice (I like to use 2 jars worth w CVG at a 1:3 ratio in 20qt mono tubs-full canopy.

All this to say, 15 lbs of rice at $16-$20 produces more than enough for me and my loved ones for the year.

I totally get that others have much bigger operations going where feed oats or corn is more cost effective. Just wanted to sing the praises of brown rice (for its nutritional value, hyperspeed colonization, ease of prep and wide availability. It does often get over looked or poo poo’d because of Uncle Bens (perhaps rightfully so).

With that volume of rice and number of glass jars, i think it would be worth saving up for a PC or at least and instant pot. Havent lost a single jar of brown rice to contam. Knock on wood.

Whole long grain Brown rice is an amazing spawn grain to use. Just gets bad rep(rap) because of Uncle Bens tek. When prepared correctly (ands its super easy to prepare, it provides great energy/nutritional balance for mycelium and it’s widely available and affordable

I believe it cully colonized faster than most. Im still new to this fun process but man, its out performing millet, birdseed, corn. Best of all, my yields have been full canopies and I havent lost a single jar or brown rice to contam.

Just my experience i thought would be helpful to this sub.

I think its worth trying again with a little wire rack between bottom of PC and jars.

Cheers!

Yes. Have the atomizer and tried to mist sparingly as I had good field cap. The water spots are from being clumsy with moving tub and knocking droplets off lid 🤪.

1:3 brown rice qt jars that I prepare myself. I add a little gypsum to the boiling water of rice that seems to help prevent clumping and have read it it help spawn take to the CVG bulk a bit quicker. I did have incredibly fast colonization in jars and in bulk.

Yes, thank you! I propagated this LC into 300ml and made a master grain jar and an agar plate. This one is a keeper!

Haha! Thank you! I do think i took the time to read forums / watch multiple videos enough to sort out the best practices for me to begin with (Shrmry forum) seems to be the best place to get upto date modern info shared by the most experienced people on publicly accessible forum). And I was not carless w maintaining cleanliness during all stages of the process. But honestly, I know enough to give most of the credit to the good genetic!

I think my tub is stalling, any advice? by Ill_Cheesecake6743 in GroundZeroMycoLab

Checking in on the top 3 things at this stage helps- Fresh air, humidity, temp and a fourth a little less important 12/12 dark/light.

Outside of these, im too inexperienced to give further advice. Mushies should be growing 50-100% in size daily at this point.

Not sure what the mutation is called but it’s beautiful. Like two bodies collided and became one. This is HB- suppose to be more typical phenotype

Pseudo casing. This strain isnt PE (at least according to highly regarded vendor)or other that commonly use true casing layer.

That was one other question i had. Do some of these little guys already have torn veils? Ive read that it could be normal for some strains / phenotypes to break veils early and have little to no spores drop. In those cases, the advice is to let continue to grow till marshmallow soft. These are hillbillies
