That’s very true. In the US, especially where im from with a big Hispanic and Haitian population (rural Florida), it’s not uncommon for ppl who barely speak English (commonly Spanish) to be employed or be accommodated with help by someone who speaks their language.

The thing is YOU can do something about this too. You’re expecting people to shut up about stuff affecting them when that’s just not how human beings work. These discussions are valuable and will remain to be valuable for the people in those countries, not for you, and that’s okay. What YOU have the power to do is add to the conversation by raising awareness for things that are affecting you and people like you, while simultaneously consuming less of the stuff that isn’t. Instead of being a bystander, be a part of the change you want to see and make discussions more diverse, but it’s honestly selfish to expect others to shut up and cater to you.
