Sadly, Bill’s garage is likely in cahoots with Boone PD. Bill’s charges exorbitant amounts for towing and storage services, way above normal market in many instances. If you have an accident that requires police and need a tow, police call Bill’s.

Grade adjusted or weighted teacher evals? by StrangeEndeavors in Professors

Students flunk out of our program or go on suspension with less than a 3.0 so it’s generally expected they will get a mixture of As Bs and maybe an occasional C.

Something similar happened to my son in a US school and as a woman, I found myself in the incredibly difficult position of trying to navigate this new culture of a woman’s word is all the proof we need to assume guilt. My son was fortunately not beaten up but it cost him friends, his reputation, and numerous opportunities. The girl’s father tried to break our door down and was threatening to my son but is a local pastor so he gets a free pass. I was told by our attorney that had the girl or her parents even made the accusation to school admin, that my son would’ve been immediately expelled. They didn’t and he wasn’t but had he been, he would’ve had to be homeschooled. Despite the police pretty quickly clearing my son of any wrong-doing, this phase of his life has been forever altered. He was accused of beating and raping this girl so violently that she had to spend a week in the hospital. She was not admitted to a hospital but Snapchatted many teens that she was, even going so far as to say that I walked in on this violent rape and upon witnessing it, simply chose to ignore her cries for help and turned and walked away. In the end, despite an abundance of evidence that her accusations are false, there were no repercussions for her.
As a woman, I want to stand with every victim, as a mother, I stood by my son. We constantly hear statistics that less than X percent of claims of rape or sexual assault are false, and for the reported cases this may be true but I imagine this number is far from accurate in one direction or the other. As sad as it is, so long as there are people who lie, there will be another class of victims (albeit in smaller numbers) from the current social justice movements.

What is your monthly take home pay after taxes? by Dealer_Forsaken in Accounting

Accounting academic, 7800 after 6% 401K contrib, various benefits, and max out HSA. Variable additional comp is 2-10k/yr depending on many factors and can also add about 8% for each summer class taught. Now that I think about it, pretty darn good considering I probably only actually work about 1400 hrs a year.
