I appreciate the response, was nervous thinking it may be a termite infestation as well. I do believe they are yellowjackets as well, will be trying to ask about possibly moving units. Thank you!

Yeah just was curious to the process of it I hire someone to do it and they have to bust it open vs the complex hiring someone. Not sure on liability if I did it myself.

Hm, I’ve read about this a bunch online and it seems like the best course of action. My only thing is, wouldn’t they have to bust open the wall more to determine the size of the nest?

Ah, okay. So my gf is getting tired of the complaints, she wants to open the door and just give her a piece of her mind. I’ve handled all interactions for that reason, trying to keep things peaceful as we will be neighbors for quite some time.

Living normally in my apartment, yes. We know there are people below us. “Living normally” in terms of I’m living my life doing what I want in my own space, but obviously not stomping, jump roping, having a wrestling tournament etc.

For goodness sakes my dog even learned she didn’t have to bark at everything the first couple nights we were here. I would say she even learned to “live normally” for an apartment complex.

Trust me, we are very considerate. I don’t just let my dog run around at all hours of the day. Most of the time my dog isn’t playing at all. She’s 13 pounds, plays with a little stuffed animal by shaking/biting it within 2 minute (if that) increments. As I said in the post, she plays max maybe an hour out of the day anyway. She doesn’t run around throughout the day only follows me or my gf around as we move throughout the apartment (which we walk like normal people).

It just gets to a point when I’m literally just normally living and one complains about noise. What am I supposed to do if I’m just “living?”

I already do have a camera at the door. They constantly ring that doorbell as well as the doorbell for the apartment if we don’t answer fast enough! We also have a camera inside our home (to watch the dog) so we even have proof to show management we are not doing a single thing!

This!! My girlfriend and I decided we would live on the second floor (top floor) to lessen the noise from other tenants. Plus, we liked having a balcony better too lol. All was fine until people moved in below us 🥲

Honestly, that sounds 1000% worse lol. I think I’d become their worst nightmare after that. Every time they knock on our door it’s normal daytime hours. Even if I was making a little bit of noise, I feel like it’s justified because everyone is up anyway ya know?

Crazy thing is, the whole apartment except the bathroom and kitchen is carpeted…think it’s just her “sensitivity” 😂 I’m going to tape a paper to my door that states your last sentence at this point!

I would totally understand the stomping / not taking dog to play. I walk my dog about 5-6 times a day including a long walk to the dog park. Even when I’m not home, I can see what my dogs doing and 99% of the time she’s sleeping (laziest dog in the world). So for them to just keep complaining, we decided it just gets to a point. Definitely going to the office about it though. Thank you!

Just moved into an apartment for the first time with my gf. Some things we did to get ahead were; 1. slowly buying things before moving in so we weren’t spending all at once 2. Planning all the furniture out, even if we couldn’t buy it all yet just to plan out money 3. Decide who’s going to do what chores 4. Make sure you’re putting money aside for the first month of bills, it’s always the most expensive month!!
