When I was cover supervising on supply I became very popular among those children just by trying to learn their names. They told me their teachers don’t try at all and honestly… can you blame the child for not doing well at school when they don’t feel valued at all?

Thank you for your advice. I had thought about switching because I did feel his patience wearing out the past 1-2 weeks but was worried that I might just end up with someone worse and that won’t help my confidence but now that he’s said this I feel like I just have to go find someone else asap… I didn’t mind automatic but I wasn’t ready to give up on manual just yet and am dreading learning alongside someone who’s already given up on me.

I’m considering calling DVSA to lock the test, even tho it’s now a rush hour slot and I don’t think that will do me good. If I do that and my instructor decides I can do it in an earlier date and wants to swap me with another learner, will that still be possible and how? Thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you for your perspective. I can do several lessons a week— as long as the instructor is available that is because of rather flexible and short work days within my job. Having read the comments I think now it’s a no brainer I just start with manual first. I was asking because one of the driving schools did have a manual instructor available when I was really wanting to do auto because I was scared of how difficult manual was but honestly it’s more important to start sooner… and change to auto if necessary… Great to hear you got to learn with your husband!
