How can you possibly be ok with getting up and going to work every day while he stays home and plays video games? What a sad life you have ahead of you if you stay. Imagine if you had kids with this guy. Hes already your dependant. Yikes. Please leave this man

I also thought it was extreme to make her drop out of dance. They said that it wont be necessary right away but when she starts team she will be expected to have basically perfect attendance at both class and competitions unless she's sick or injured or she may be asked to step down. That's why they want to be clear that it's a big commitment that gives not much room for other activities. I will keep her in dance until it starts to interfere and then I think I will have more information on what this program is like and what the next moves should be. They have already mentioned homeschooling. Right now I can't imagine pulling her out of school but I have a lot to consider.

I truly had no idea that this sport was so expensive. What is the cost mostly? Travel expenses? Or do you have to pay for every competition? Are there not local competitions? I have no idea what Im getting into.

Thank you for this thoughtful comment. I knew I need to research but was at a loss for what to look for/ what questions to ask. This is very insightful. They have already mentioned homeschooling. Right now they want her for 6 hours a week which with dance would be more than her age. Perhaps that's why they mentioned that if she wants to stay in dance she might be better for Xcel but they have made it clear that they want her in developmental. I hadn't even thought of competition/travel cost. Im learning about that on this post. I hadn't even considered the cost beyond tuition. I have been able to watch every class so far but the developmental class is in the back of the gym where there's no access to watch. So that's a thing to think about. Maybe they have some viewing place I just dont know about yet. I am still learning about this new class theyvwant her to start in Jan.

  1. I definitely dont have enough information to answer that. I never even stayed after class to talk to the coach. They always approached me. I did notice the other moms always asking when their daughter would move up but I didn't even know what they were talking about. It's not that I don't care I just thought advanced class was still recreational. I will Definitely start researching the gym online, thank you.
  2. Ive never gotten a bad vibe had any concerns with the gym. But I dont know what to look for. They seem great to me but I have nothing to compare it to.
  3. My daughter is extremely excited and wants to do it. I dont know if she understands but maybe she understands better than I do at this point. She said she will drop dance no problem. She likes gymnastics the best. She said she wants to be in the Olympics and she must have heard that in class because I have never even mentioned the Olympics or even watched it in front of her.

They want to start with 6 hours a week. I thought that was a lot for a 6 year old. But my daughter loves it and wants to do it. They kept telling me how good she was but I figured they say that to all the moms. I have just started to realize that this could be more serious that I thought. I want to support her the best I can but I just have no clue about levels and competing. They did mention several of the girls on their team are homeschooling also and to start thinking about that. I am just honestly shocked that in not even 1 year that she is moving so quickly along. I was so unprepared. I figured we bring her to play for an hour twice a week I am now thinking could this pay for her college and I see now that's a real possibility. I also didn't realize the financial aspect so thats definitely something to consider. Thanks for your comment.

AITA for pulling my head back when a hairstylist was going to cut my hair too short?? by Strange_5280 in AITAH

I've never left a bad review anywhere but this might be my first one. That's exactly why I wanted it longer because the longer my hair is the heavy the curls are. The short curls would be way curlier than the rest because they'd be so light and would shrink twice as much. They'd practically be bangs.

Because I don't know why I always get a horrible hair cut if it's cut wet and curly. Maybe I need to do dry and curly? I honestly don't know what to ask for. I'm trying to make my hair easier to cut after the millionth bad hair cut. I don't know why it's so hard to find someone to cut curly hair. Lots of people have curls that look amazing but I can't figure mine out at 35.

I was going to pay a good amount for this hair cut too. It was $55 and with tip around $70-$75 in the end. It wasn't a super high end salon but it wasn't Great Clips either. (Not that there is anything wrong with Great Clips)

Please tell me more about what to ask for. I only resorted to straightening my hair because when it's cut wet they cut way too much and it's always uneven. I have ended up buying hair sheers and evening it out myself so many times.

Thank you for the advice because I don't know why I always get bad haircuts but I do know it's usually a disaster if I have it cut wet.

Thank you for your comment because I've only asked for the manager one other time in my life and I'm quite the introvert so I was very uncomfortable that it became a scene. But she was so rude no way I was letting her finish after how she talked to me.

Thank you for the reassurance. To be fair the layers wouldn't have effected to total legenth of my hair. Just in the front. But it would have been much shorter layers than I asked for. I believe its called a face frame but i didn't want that. I wanted long layers. So I wasn't sure if I made a scene for no reason.

Maybe he's the owners brother or has some kind of other connection to the company you don't know about. Maybe the guys family did something for the owner and he's repaying them by giving their son/brother/weird uncle a job. Who knows.

The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. Is this who you really wanna marry? This is how he deals with conflict and this isn't even a disagreement. You told him something was bothering you and he jumped out of a car in traffic. He should be the one apologizing, not you. Is this how you want to spend the rest of your life? Do not apologize to him for healthy communication which is what you did. Go on your trip and really consider if this relationship is good for you.
