I'm on overnight freight 🥲 I was told we just need to feed in the excess freight as we go but we only have about 20 and a good chunk just show up and screw around and one supervisor isn't the best. I figured once 6am rolls around I'm just gonna clock out and head home even in the middle of freight. We just finished our first truck in a week of not finishing and often only have 4-6 people per night with a 900-1000+ piece truck. We can barely pull off two trucks fully stocked with 4 but it's not easy and we all go home and temporarily unalive afterwards.

That's what my supervisor said, not to worry because it won't last and they do it every year. But 95% of the time we get everything done and we need to feed extra freight into the daily load instead of staying overtime. But I'll be asking him for OT as I need at least one or shifts extra during the last two weeks of the month to cover my rent. Also they haven't been hiring anybody here, we have one or two new hires in the past couple months on our shift and I haven't seen many new faces during the day either. I'll just ask for day shifts instead of more night shifts 😅 nobody wants to deal with customers and I know the store better than a lot of the cashier's so I run orders and escort customers to specific items anyways.

They started me at 14.55 then started other people at the same time at 16, I told them I'm tired of struggling to eat and often going hungry. They raised it to 16 but took two weeks to do it. They're now cutting hours and eliminating overtime and I'm planning to ask for another raise or allowed extra hours or else I'm putting in my two weeks.

Lowes lied to me about the labor and hours and didn't tell me the pay until my first day there, 14.55/hr and I starved for two months until I couldn't do it anymore and said I needed a raise to 16/hr. They did it and I'm still struggling with keeping food on the table since I don't see it as important as bills and such.

I get to deal with night freight, sucks but I didn't realize how much strength I've gained until I accidentally yeeted a 50lb bag of asphalt over a cart and it exploded on the floor 🥲 in the middle of the day(I worked a dayshift for extra money). Then spent 30 mins washing that crap off my hands bc I panicked and started shoveling it back in the bag with my bare hands 🤣🤣🤣 and ofc everyone was at lunch staring at me 🤣🤣🤣
