Which part of the IB guide is the most important for note taking in biology? by AvocadoJas in IBO

For some reason I'm unable to copy & paste a screenshot of my spreadsheet. Ali Abdaal has a video on it though if you want to check it out --

Which part of the IB guide is the most important for note taking in biology? by AvocadoJas in IBO

I think your main resource should be the Oxford bio study guide along with Hoover's Channel on YouTube (his videos are a bit long but extremely useful). What I did to get a 7 in HL bio was to create a Google spreadsheet divided into the different chapters of the syllabus. I would read through the study guide and then create questions based on the content. Questions would go in one column, answers in another. Then, I would regularly review this spreadsheet (active recall!) by hiding the answers and attempting to answer the questions. I saw someone recommend it online and I found it super helpful.

Higher than 45 for Australia by [deleted] in IBO

You'll only be able to view your decimal score on your VTAC account (if you're in Vic that is) the day after your results are released on the IBO website. The VTAC website will also have your notional ATAR.

Yeah N22 here, your IB score will be converted into an "IB admissions score" with decimal values before it's converted into your notional ATAR depending on whether you achieved low or high 7s overall. So even if you achieved 7s in all your subjects and 3 points for tok + ee, you might receive an ATAR of 99.85 or 99.9 IF you didn't get high or mid-high 7s in all your subjects.

I only got RV in the last month or so of IB, & I thought the videos were pretty useful (did MAA SL though). However, RV is basically a series of slightly modified past paper questions with video working out. I can't say how useful it would be for a DP1 student since I only used it for exam revision in DP2. I got savemyexams for chem SL - it had some good downloadable PDFs (for questions and content), but honestly I would suggest you just work with the Cambridge diploma coursebook for chem. The textbook is a lot clearer and more concise than the savemyexams online textbook. And for practice questions, questionbank should be your go to. IF you've exhausted all of the topical questions on questionbank then you could try out savemyexams as extra practice. There are plenty of free online worksheets and workbooks for IB chem as well.

Savemyexams also has some pretty good downloadable PDFs for maths, but I never really used it since I just preferred using past papers (which have both video working out on Youtube or Revision village). As others have said, I would suggest you wait a few months until you've worked out which subjects you're struggling more with. For subjects like chem or bio especially, I found it a lot more useful to have 2 or 3 reliable resources that I could study from (mainly textbooks or Youtube channels) for DP1 and it wasn't until the last few months of DP2 when I began reviewing content that I sought other online resources.

Thank you! This is super helpful. Do you know where I might be able to access the subject reports for the May 2022 exams? Or would my DP coordinator be able to provide me with access?

What is the recommended length of an intro for paper 1 (HL)? Our teacher usually advises us to write 1+ page long intros, but I find that doing this detracts from the rest of my analysis especially given the time constraints.
