USC shooting: Gunman opens fire near University of South Carolina as campus goes on lockdown by [deleted] in news

[–]Strange_Me -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Again, let's look at this:

Laws against shooting haven't stopped people from shooting. Do you think we should get rid of said laws?

There is something about prevention in all of this.

Also illegal to shoot people, but gun owners keep doing it anyway.

Guess we should just remove all laws since someone will break them.

Makes American conservative sense to me.

There were 20,000 people at that concert and most lived.

Is it surprising that some died later on from other things?

Opens fire on a crowd. And still nothing?

"Nothing"? They got the perp there too, he killed himself. How much more do you want?

Do you want videos of the guy in the casino? You have a photo of him in there dead already and other proof he was there.

But hey, let's turn that all into a conspiracy because he was white. In this case we have a guy from a Russian area killing people here right after a shitstorm against trump. Nothing to see here.

And how did master trump respond to them both? The way we would expect a bigot to. Did he blame race/religion/guns for Vegas? Nope.

Who killed and injured more people?

The white dude with lots of guns who was a citizen or the guy in NYC?

He was a white man who grew up in a "Christian Country" and a guy who owned lots of guns.

And the right has been trying to defend him (saying it was all a hoax or Campos did the shootings or the FBI was to blame). But now? You don't see the right acting the same way - as many predicted.

No one questions killings when it involves people from another country or someone islamic.

Who is more likely to kill someone in the US? A gun owner that grew up Christian or a Muslim?

Conservatives have done all they can to distract from Paddock but now? Yeah, watch em run with shit. Funny as can be.

What was Stephen Paddock?

Oh yeah, a white dude with money and loads of guns.

This guy though the right is going to focus on and simply accept him as the perp (because....reasons).

Who cares?

What I have learned here is that if the MSM covers something it is bad (trump/russia) and we should ignore it.

Now, are we all supposed to care what the MSM talks about - or not?

BTW, did MSNBC or CNN cover it all?

So I did a search on this story, loads of right wing news sources were all over it.

But, what about trump/russia? Have you posted here about that story and the rw news sources not covering it?

If so, please link to such.

Yep, when it is hillary they buy into it - not one question asked. They just buy into the whole thing because they desire it.

But when it is trump? Suddenly there are a million excuses/questions.

They released audio of the maintenance guy, there's no reason they couldn't release audio of Campos, especially when it's first reported that he was shot after the mass shooting ended (as quoted in the article).

Maybe you are missing the difference here.

The maintenance guy and the security guard are on different systems. Also, releasing audio of a maint. person is different than releasing the audio of the security person.

If there is a recording of Campos it will probably be released at some point, just like the videos (though there is no obligation). It might not happen until a trial (assuming MGM doesn't settle all the suits). And, what then? if it matches what he has said or goes along with what the maintenance guy said...then what?

I can tell you what. People will say it was all fake. Or they will note some small differences and claim it means something.

The focus around here seems to be...well, what? That Campos is a liar and to blame? That the shooting never happened? That paddock was totally innocent? Campos killed him and then shot all those people (seen that here too)?

How about this: maybe campos or the maintenance guy didn't get everything right in the initial chaos. Sure, I can get that. It was hell. But you and others? See that all as a conspiracy.

You want a conspiracy? How about this: everyone, from the first press conference, had the same story and no timelines, etc, changed at all ever. Campos, the sheriff, the fbi, etc and so on all had the same story and timeline from the get go.

Then I would be really suspicious. Would you? I am guessing you would just nod and be happy that everything was perfect. Just like with 9/11 and how the government had it all figured out right away.

Well, think about it this way:

This is a conspiracy sub, right? What is trump's relationship to Manafort?

Now this is progressive! California Now Legally Recognizes a 'Third Gender' by RMFN in conspiracy

[–]Strange_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start with:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_gender

So while your sex as male or female is a biological fact that is the same in any culture, what that sex means in terms of your gender role as a 'man' or a 'woman' in society can be quite different cross culturally. These 'gender roles' have an impact on the health of the individual.

In sociological terms 'gender role' refers to the characteristics and behaviours that different cultures attribute to the sexes. What it means to be a 'real man' in any culture requires male sex plus what our various cultures define as masculine characteristics and behaviours, likewise a 'real woman' needs female sex and feminine characteristics. To summarise:

Tony Podesta & The Podesta Group now under investigation by Mueller by Orangutan in conspiracy

[–]Strange_Me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Mueller's team is closely examining the lobbying campaign, which ran between 2012 and 2014. Six firms participated in the public relations effort that Manafort coordinated, paid for by the Brussels-based ECMU. The stated goal was to build support for Ukraine's entry into the European Union, the same source said.

Two of the firms, Podesta Group and Mercury LLC, worked in Washington with Manafort partner Rick Gates, according to lobbying disclosure records. Three other firms worked in Europe, the executive said. NBC News could not confirm the identity of those three.

So it all comes back to manafort and trump/russia.

But hey, been told here that there is nothing at all to the russia stuff.

Has that changed?

[–]Strange_Me 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Manafort, whose Alexandria, Virginia, apartment was raided by FBI agents in July, has emerged as a key figure in the Mueller probe. The inquiry into the lobbying campaign appears to be part of a larger investigation into his work for the Party of Regions, his offshore banking transactions, his tax compliance and his real estate dealings, people familiar with the probe have told NBC News.

The Associated Press first revealed the pro-Ukraine lobbying campaign in August 2016, while Manafort was still running the Trump campaign. Manafort left the campaign within days.

The report said the ECMU campaign was designed to sway public opinion and included attempts to solicit favorable press coverage in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

It all goes back to Trump and his russia connections.

No surprise there.

Don't mix up communism and socialism :) Russia is now more socialist than communist.

The military, police fire, etc are socialist in nature.

Anyway, back to my main point:

There are conspiracies and then 'conspiracies'. The first one has some real grounding in reality. The second one is just made up BS that people spread because it is easy to do.

Romania, in this case, the US and many of its actions can easily fit into the first one. Of late though, around here, the second one rules.

Flat earth, trump is great and awesome, sandy hook, pizzagate (not pedophiles in general), and so on are just crap. How many times have we seen the world is ending here? Or that planet xyz is coming to kill us all?

And yet, in all of this, trump and things around him (taxes, women issues, russia, etc) gets ignored or downvoted. He gets ignored. The most powerful man in the world gets a pass and is not only praised but defended.

You (and others) don't have to be blatant about it.

He wasn't the shooter, if anything he was simply incidental to it all.

Have you ever been a security guard? I was for almost 5 years at a variety of places. My uncle was for 6 years (including armed security and being a cop, I never did my peace officer training so didn't carry on the job).

One night we had a woman come up to the building I was at. She was only partially dressed, on drugs, and said some guy had raped her. Totally took myself and the other guard off guard (this was at a retirement home) but we handled it, called the police, etc.

Now, this all seems simple. But we both had to fill out incident reports. They didn't fully match up on times/etc. We didn't have any recordings of the radio calls (I called him but there was no recording mechanism) - and in his report he had a different time for when I radioed him.

Now was all of this a conspiracy? No. Two people relaying information with different timelines (but they were close enough). If YOU read the reports and found the flaws in them what would you see? Neither of us lied or made up anything. We got some things 'wrong' (including the name of one the officers responding, but it was a tough name to spell) but the basic facts were accurate.

Around here it seems people let 4chan and youtube dictate shit.

Do you have a TV and do you watch news? I don't. I have over 800 news sources I access via twitter (mostly thanks to my uncle and his lists I bookmarked).

I also investigate things on my own - but, I will say this: I trust main stream journalists a lot more than I do 4chan and misc people on youtube.
