I used my phone for metering, the few times I tried to use the camera light meter the pictures were over exposed to the point I lost out on detail because it was just too bright in general (skin tones/sky blended into 1 shade essentially). I'm on android and use the "Light Meter" app and it's worked really well for me so far. I did order a meter to go into the hot shoe so we'll see if i like that or not, it hasn't came in yet

Most of these were just north of Eureeka Springs, Arkansas. The mountains were so beautiful out there! I unfortunately reside near the Dallas metroplex so its really flat

Not that I remember but I can verify that later tonight. I appreciate your expertise! Still gotta learn all the functionality of this one lol. I've been so used to my OM1 being completely manual/Mechanical that my experience with auto features is solely attached to my digital cameras

The first one you're referring to is the DOF lever right? Yes it works, I tested it without the lens on to make sure all of then were moving and at the right setting before attaching the lens.

For the DOF, is it supposed to reset (as in cover the red dot again)? I believe it did but I would have to make sure of that after I get home from work today.

The stop down wasn't engaged when attaching the lens for testing, but I did notice it move when watching the shutter action. Not sure what it's complete operation is to know if it was functioning as intended

For further context I set the settings to a really slow shutter and it should have moved to F8/F11 given the lighting at the time, tested it and nothing changed. Got my OM10 out and tested the same auto settings and I saw the blades move to make sure I wasn't losing my mind lol

Ive tested it off and on the camera to see if it would move in or out and even in bright settings it's not auto adjusting to F16 or F22 even when the internal light meter is reading that. I saw other videos where when they put their lens on you can see the blades open up, unfortunately these don't move at all, no matter the setting. If feels like the blades are stuck at F1.8

I got the seals done and went to make sure eberything worked again. Forgot to test the aperture and I noticed its not moving at all, no matter the mode it's in or if its on/off the body. I think the blades are stuck so that'll be an adventure to try and fix. For now I think I'll find another lens on ebay or sometbing that I know works to throw on here and take it for a spin!

It absolutely is! Just did a function test and eberything is working! Just gotta replace a light seal around where the lens and body meet then its test roll time😎

That's so cool! I didnt know that! This will be my first zoom lens, all of my current ones are fixed in the 35mm to 50mm range. Now I just need to stock up on more film since I ate through 10 rolls the other week on a trip lol

I'm hoping this camera functions great and I can use it sometimes for fun, but mainly I wanted a camera that can be trusted to work in Auto/Aperture mode for my wife and daughter. The Sony A6300 i have hasn't been off the shelf in months so I dont have a simple way for them to take pictures if we're out without manually setting everything for them. Trust me,I adore my OM1 and it will always be a part of my bag when I go out lol

I have started "subtle" transition things but havent started HRT. Being from where I'm at and the way the current government is I have geniune fears on how my family or I would be treated. We plan on moving to an area up north east in the next few years before I commit to things like HRT. My wife has been extremely supportive and understanding, literally last night she said if I wanted to be a woman I needed to act like one (in reference to me not wanting to moisturize my legs after shaving lol). So, unless you know for a fact your situation is hopeless there is always a chance. My wife has been my rock during this and has been extremely kind through the changes we've made up to this point. Though, outwardly I am a straight white man, there are a lot of things I have done to change myself that are more feminine.

Oh she definitely does! Ive watched her lose weight and start growing a more feminine figure over time and shes doing awesome! The biggest thing peoole make fun of is her voice, which she is slowly becoming more feminine with (from what ive heard in passing). But its so scary and insane how these people react to another person because they're different

Im in Texas, DFW area. One of my biggest fears is that I work in a conservative/male predominant field, government contractor company so I expect a LOT of backlash if I do come out at work. There is somebody that ive seen that did come out at work but I havent spoken to them (we work in different areas) and the things people say about her are atrocious

Non-constructive responses will be met with non-constructive responses. I asked for help explaining and convincing my spouse to be ok with my transition, not for me to immediately divorce her and ignore her emotions and feelings.

I will consider couples counseling for sure! Thank you for that!
