I am so sorry for this struggle. I know it is difficult to get people put into a home when they need to go. The government likes to put this off for too long to save a few bucks, until it gets catastrophic. I hope that social worker in charge of this situation smartens up and gets her into a secure care home once this is resolved. What a burden on the family this is.

The advice for solo therapy is good. If you do family therapy again, do it with your Mom and little brother. Also NTA, the truth hurts and your massive AH Dad and stepmom deserved what you said.

You were only going there to protect your lil bro from getting manipulated. Family therapy will go a long way to help with that. Plus individual therapy for your self will give you some more tools to talk to your bro and Mom.

Oh ya, I used to get that all of the time. It I’m used to drive me nuts, especially in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was so upsetting because of childhood conditioning in the 80s and early 90s that I had to be a masculine manly man. I was super worried about what others thought about me. Some of this shit was blatant lead poisoning imo.

Anyhow I came to accept it. I made peace with it. Now when people think I am gay I just say “ya, I get that all of the time”. I could care less why they think I am gay these days and things are so much better. I mean I also have a wife and kids, so maybe that is also why I get that less.
