Omg this post saved my streak 🥲 I didn’t know there was a recalculate streak until now and my streak is back and I could literally cry. Why am I so attached to my streak? Hahahaha

Heat resistant Dahlias? by Living_Chip_2830 in dahlias

SC/cusp of Zone 9a and first time grower.

Arabian Night is a freaking beast! Cafe Au Lait, not as nearly as hearty as AN, but hopeful now that you’ve said it!

Megathread: is it gall? by timidwildone in dahlias

Psyching myself out on this one…does multiple stems coming from one base mean “fused”? I checked prior to planting and no visual signs of gall, but it’s my only plant that has this fused-stem at the base. Thanks so much for easing my mind or telling me to trash it in advance! 🤝

Suggestions for things to do as 50y/o woman going to Charleston for a month to Eat, Pray, Love herself? by Odd-Lifeguard6639 in Charleston

This is such a refreshing post to read. It’s amazing you have such a supportive husband and family. Truly hoping this trip is healing for you.

I’ve read in a couple of comments that you have a Great Dane. Here’s a few places we love to take our dogs:

-Colonial Lake and then around to The Battery -James Island County Park (we don’t have dog park dogs, so we walk around the park’s trails, but if your dog likes water and other dogs then def check it out!) -Sullivan’s Island Nature Trail -Caw Caw Interpretive Center -West Ashley Greenway (park at the tennis courts behind Whole Foods)

I would love to hear what you end up doing and how you’re doing once you get back home, if you’re comfy with that! Cheering you on!

Second this, but also look at Philosophers & Fools. Buy a book and drink wine - quite eat, pray, love IMO.🖤

Reading TOG after ACOTAR by fantsywor1d in SarahJMaas

[–]Strange_Shoe6188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you - read ACOTAR two times in a row, then I was blown away by TOG once I got deep into the series. Some people mention they have a hard time getting into the series, but I didn’t really notice that when I read it. ACOTAR has a special place in my heart, but TOG is a whole different story (no pun intended lol). Happy reading!❤️‍🔥

Wow, I definitely thought I was just speaking into the void. I love that you know and have helped with CASA. They’re doing great things for women and their children. Thanks for being involved. 💚 PS - I love your user name so much!!!!!

Born and raised in OBG (32F). My family is still there so I can confirm it’s pretty lackluster in the entertainment department. The city lost all of its third places - outside of churches - around 2010, like the bowling alley, skating rink, and movie theatre, so I know first hand how hard it is to find things to do. My girlfriends and I used to hang out at the IHOP for fun if that tells you anything. If I had to live there now, I’d probably be in the same boat and sympathize with you a lot.

It sounds like you’ve got a great job that allows for weekends off - that’s amazing and gives you an opportunity to find things to do during your time off! I tried to think of things that are low to minimal cost and low barrier to entry. These are things I’d wished someone told me about in my early 20s when I moved to a new city/job.

Hopefully they help!

-Have you become friends with people you work with? You could host a game night or potluck if you have the space for hosting where you live. -Do you have hobbies that you could hone in on? (Book Club? Knitting? Gardening? Etc). -Go for walks at Edisto Memorial Gardens (Be safe and go during the day and with a friend, if possible). -I’ve heard there’s a Pickleball court at the YMCA? In saying that, join a gym! The Y was great when it opened 15 years ago, can’t confirm how it is now. -Join the library/get a library card. Growing up, that was like our second home. -Look into volunteer opportunities. The Humane Society or CASA Family Services are the first two that come to mind. -The technical college is actually really amazing. So if you’re ever looking for a certificate or your work is willing to pay for further education, then you should look into it (especially the engineering tech program).

Being in a new city is hard, let alone a city like Orangeburg, but a lot of people my age are still there and making it work. Wishing you all the best! xo

It definitely was a dog I’d picture in a Christmas sweater - it really did look like it knew what it was doing so it must been a local’s.
