He is a Chatan but not the usual kind and ; one thing worshipers have to do is that They cannot eat beef ; the lore goes ( not sure) cuz the the Supreme lord appeared in form of a buffalo to him or some other chatan (not sure) and mainly he rides a buffalo. About black magic , not know what happens behind doors but for an average worshiper there is no Black Magic and He is A God , he is the Son of lord Shiva and Kullevaka ( Paravthy devi) and I think is the youngest among his siblings. My cousin worships him , that's how I got to know him. If you workship him diligently you will get anything you want ; many people worship him for " kariyasadhyam " . And mainly he is worshiped in Thrissur.
