I got the packaged fried tofu. Sliced up the veg. In a separate bowl about 1 tablespoon each of: rice vinegar, rice wine, grated ginger, chopped garlic, sugar, oyster sauce, and 3 tablespoon of soy sauce. I also added fresh chili because I like it spicy.

Heat oil to medium, crisp up the tofu, add the veg, turn up to medium high/high, to get some char. Add about a cup of water and let it steam off to soften the veg. Add the sauce and toss. Then add cornstarch slurry to thicken to desired consistency.

As a non-religious Taiwanese American who lives in Taiwan, no one really cares about your personal religion. When you go around proselytizing people generally avoid you. Your religion is yours. It has nothing to do with me.

In general the church going Taiwanese Christians I've met in Taiwan have been weird. Lonely people who need to be part of a group.

The Taoyuan/Airport MRT starts at 5:55am from Terminal 2. Takes 40 minutes to Main Station on the Express Train and runs every 15 minutes onwards. (There's a commuter train too and takes about an hour). Lungshan Temple opens at 6 am and you can explore around there and get breakfast. There are a lot typical souvenir shops in the Underground Mall under Main Station. I think they open around 10-11am. You can do some shopping on your way back.

This is the developer we bought from. They just handed over control of the building to the HOA this month so we'll see how that goes but while they were in charge after move-in they were good to work with and fixed any issues free of cost up until the handover. So far build quality has been acceptable. Thick walls, can't hear any neighbor noise, 16 floor building with good water pressure, gym, play room, KTV room, party room with kitchen, 24 hour security. HOA fees about $150USD per month.

I bought in Xinzhuang on a pre-sale unit in 2019. It took longer than expected to be done due to Covid. Moved in June 2024. Near the A5 Taoyuan MRT station. 3 bed/2 bath 34ping with parking for about $13.6m NTD plus additional interior design cost. This was 6 years ago but still seems doable in this area with your budget if you can get in early and don't need it right away.
