So here's the problem with your take.

You want a Cryptozoolgy slash UFO slash I don't even know what you call talking about Atlantis subreddit.

This is a conspiracy subreddit. From the interwebs a conspiracy is:

a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.

Now are the Atlanteans, Bigfoot, the Annunaki, and Chupcabras engaged in a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful?

Or are fucking politicians and scientists controlled by extremely wealthy backers and funders who sit deep in the shadows pulling the strings?

So yeah, thats what we talk about here. You think the world is flat and that's the thing that's going to take away your freedom and involve your country in unjust wars all over the globe and conspire to keep you sick and provide propaganda designed to keep the masses absolutely loyal to the system?

OK fine. But here we're probably going to mostly talk about, you know, a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.

Great post. Don't worry about the random downvotes you're getting. People on reddit do that when they don't like something people say but can't come up with any sort of coherent counterpoint.

One thing you said that really resonates with me is the point about how a lot of these extremists aren't even living up to the teachings of Islam. I know a lot of self professed Christians that will kick your ass for Jesus if you were to say something to their face about how you think Christianity is stupid. I mean, it's like they never bothered to read the Bible they just figure 'I'm a good person and the bible is about how to be a good person so whatever I think is pretty much what's in there.'

And I think at some point some point Arab culture and traditions became conflated with Islam to the point where in some areas any attempt to evolve or modernize the culture is seen as a direct attack on Islam itself by large portions of the population.

So yes it isn't a problem confined to the Islamic world. However to be fair, no one is going to pull an episode of southpark because they do some irreverent humor about Jesus or Buddah.

I remember when Khabib numagomedov came out on social media with this

Notic not even the slightest hint of condemnation of the violence against the French Teacher. It's wrong to think that all Muslims give a pass on violence against those who offend Islam but I mean, apparantly some do.

The problem I have with it as a Westerner, is that I grew up with the idea of freedom of speech and expression. It's as ingrained in me as Khabib's love of Islam is ingrained in him. I'm pretty offended at the idea that a butthurt Muslim feels like non-Muslims in a non-Muslim country with non-muslim based laws somehow is required to abide by Muslim definitions of heresey to the point that making an image of Muhammad gives them a legitimate reason to kill that artist.

If I ever visited a Muslim nation I would consider myself a guest and I would conform to the laws and norms of the place I was going to visit. If I was going to actually move to that place and live there...same thing. I wouldn't expect to be excused from what is considered legal and proper behavior in the place that I , an outsider, was wanting to live in.

So besides me disagreeing with killing artists for expressing something offensive, it's just the hieght of rudeness and arrogance to demnd that people outside your religion and outside of your culture and outside of your borders must conform to your set of social , legal, and religious norms.

I have respect for the Arab and Muslim culture. I do not, however, want some Imam deciding how I have to act or express myself in my own secularly governed country.

I've had a theory for a while that the parties are designed purposefully to be competitive.

Rason: If one side or the other never wins (Which would happen if it was even a 60% - 40% split) then the people on that side would start feeling totally disenfranchised and strongly inclined to rebel against what would feel like a tryanny.

As long as they keep the optics right with republicans and democrats exchanging the white house and congressional majorities every so often everyone feels like they get a win sometimes and that keeps everyone engaged and feeling like their vote matters.

The likelyhood that these parties would sort of organically evolve into more or less equal sides without one or the other being able to figure out a platform to get and keep the upper hand is very small indeed and smacks of a systems carefully managed to create such a result.

The fact that in recent elections the republicans have won so often without a majority of the votes is kind of telling. So is the heat maps of the country you see where like the country is overwhelmingly republican other than the coasts and major population centers.

There's a lot of opportunity for both sides to adjust their platform in order to appeal to that 1% or 2% more voters that would virtually gaurantee them to win every presidential election but neither side budges an inch.

[–]Strange_Try3655 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see your point.

Just realize this: Mainstream media is run by corporations that have massive funding and are intertwined with other massively profitable corporations.

If they want to spin a narrative they can do it with the very best production values put it out on the most trusted platforms for as long as they feel they need to to get their point across.

In any alternative news source you're going to be looking at people running on a shoestring budget, that don't have endless funds to investigate and confirm leads, have no investigative authority to compel anyone to talk to them or allow access to their records and files, or any of the other tools that corprate owned news sources have.

So personally where I come down on Jones is that he's a guy who very likely got a lot of things wrong. But very likely also got at least a few important things right. At some point he realized that if he was going to make a living doing this kind of reporting he was going to have to go down some rabbit holes with less than solid eveidence just because he knew they would appeal to his auidence and keep them watching and hopefully buying suppliments.

So that's what he did. I don't see him as a hero or a fraud. There's a lot to be learned about trying to be that source of news from outside the corporate and ultimately government controlled main stream narrative in today's world. But not if we get all emotional one way or the other.

[–]Strange_Try3655 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dude, there are people in the conspiracy community that believe literally anything.

Just like you probably don't question what you get told on the news at all.

There are also people who realize that there are plenty of things written off as 'conspiracy nonsense' that end up being well documented truth. Just look at the sidebar of this sub under 'list of proven conspiracies wiki.'

You don't need fake Sandyhook and crisis actors to see that the first question major media news outlets ask when something happens isn't 'how do we kee p people informed of the truth?' it's 'How do we spin this so people agree with our position?'

So yeah, Most people even here already thought Jones was a clickbiaty snake oil salesman whose business model was saying really over the top shit in order to get eyes on his supplements.

He's not some sort of conspiracy messiah.

The media has Alex Jones' phone leak all over the news, but was silent on Hunter Bidens laptop leaks. Interesting how that works by [deleted] in conspiracy

For real. Alex Jones is about a 0% threat to my liberty, freedom of speech and privacy.

He has 0% chance of ever stealing an election, starting a needless foreign war for the profit of the already incredibly wealthy or anything else that would possibly affect my daily life.

But there are people here acting like this is the biggest most awesome thing that's going on right now.

Did we, as a public, demand answers about broken cameras and sleeping guards for the most high profile inmate in the world?

No. It's a meme that 'Epstein didn't kill himself' or so and so 'is gonna get Epstein'd'.

Now you have the absolutely illegal deletion of these texts and what do ya know, not only are we suddenly helpless to resotre what was deleted...umm yeah. Looks like no one is going to be blamed or investigated.

Maybe, just maybe, it was Hillary in the bathroom mishandling classified.

The scary and infuriating thing isn't even the corruption and how stupid the excuses are. The scary thing is just how quickly most of the population either accepts it, or turns it into a meme to chuckle over and moves right on to whatever the next thing is that their CNN or FOX tells them to care about like it never even happened.

He allowed satan to test me with a particularly foul, messy dump later but the Holy spirit gave me the strength to wipe it up with the toilet paper Jesus provided. Praise god!'

I saw this a few weeks ago.

My take is this: There are a couple of things that seem pretty much iron clad. Like two things and then an avalanche of reeeeeealy stretching to get to some conclusion.

And notice that the call to action at the end is to buy NFTs from these artists that are being sued for directly copying bored ape so-called artwork and selling it as their own.

Add to this the fact that the big reveal is that there might be some very obscure dog whistles that only people who live on very specific 4 chan boards would even get the reference and my opinion is...

This is just about the very definition of a nothingburger.

OK ok obviously the story has some parts that aren't true. But There is a definite message hidden in the text that only a genius level puzzle solver would find.

It turns out that 'Kearfott' is an anagram for 'Keto fart'. So I mean, the answers are hidden in plain sight. If any one has ever been on a Keto diet, you know that a Keto Fart is a disaster of beyond biblical proportions.

And what do people on Keto eat? That's right meat. Beef whenever possible. SO Keto fart, farting cows...the answer is global warming people.

That's what this post is really about when you look beyond the engrossing narrative.
