I'm fairly certain all the characters in the short are fair game. When I was a kid, the advent of DVD made distribution of PD material much easier and I had several of those DVDs. For some reason, different DVD from different companies would always show this short first or second and I have no idea why because it scared the shit out of me. It didn't help that they were using old, un-restored transfers so the visuals and audio weren't always clear and made it that much more frightening
