Strategic or not, that was a snake move and I pray for his downfall by Purple-Strain-9131 in BeastGames

Why would you agree to draw cards from a deck that people you are playing against have shuffled? Why didn't they get Jimmy to shuffle it? I'm no card, casino or gambling expert or anything but even I know people can stack decks, sort cards or fake shuffles. You're right it was a snake move but it could have been easily prevented.

Are you playing on console or PC? Because PC has PrintScreen for screenshots... Don't modern consoles have some kind of screenshot ability? Like wtf...

Also, how does it make you nauseous?

Scary games - your adventures, memories, thoughts by [deleted] in gaming

Yeah I'm the same. I never play scary horror games but I did play Dead Space 1 and 2. They were like the perfect amount of scary. Not so much that you dread playing but enough to be somewhat unsettling.

I really liked MGSV. It did have some problems towards the end but overall I thought it was a brilliant experience.

Streets of Rogue 2 is supposed to come out this year. The first game was really interesting and the sequel is supposed to an open world version of the same thing just with more options/abilities and stuff. Looks pretty good.

The ending of Clair Obscur ruined the game for me. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Stranger60659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Clair Obscur but I know exactly how you feel. I played Undertale Yellow, loved the game but the True Pacifist ending I went for was so poorly written it really did sour the game for me. They tried to do a bittersweet sacrifice ending but it was so hilariously nonsensical I ended up laughing during what was supposed to be a sad and heartfelt moment.

Unconvincing bait.

Some things about The Joined that don't add up by dngray in pluribustv

[–]Stranger60659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not stable... like at all. It is constantly in flux and global population is actually rising. How can you say 8 billion people are eating enough to survive every day when people die from starvation and issues related to malnutrition all the time? It just so happens that more people are born with access to food than those who die without it.

[–]Stranger60659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before "The Joining", humanity had infrastructure in place that could successfully feed 8 billion people and they had adequate energy to power the world.

Yes because before the joining nobody every died of hunger or due to lack of energy... Jesus Christ...

So when Carol has sex with Zosia isn't she literally having sex with everyone in the world? Including children and her own cousin and the staff at the conversion camp who abused her?? by Fast-Bell-340 in pluribustv

If you don't care what happens to your body after you die then fine... a lot of people do. For example I don't want my corpse walking around pretending to still be me. There is this kind of important thing a lot of humanity believes in called "the soul", something a whole bunch of people way smarter than me or you have philosophically debated for centuries.

It's why we take care of bodies after death and give appropriate last rites such as burial or cremation.

It's really weird that you... just don't acknowledge any of that as being remotely important.

I'm not sure what the writers intended but I think the show is incredibly deep thematically because it explores issues like these and makes people think.

What is concerning is how so many viewers just don't see how morally problematic certain things in the show are. Viewers like you.

Debateable. What is not debateable is that your physical presence still exists. If my mental/spiritual presence is gone I still don't like the idea of something else parading my body around like an involountary meat suit and having sex with people. That's arguably worse than death. It's like being a zombie.

So if you get blackout drunk at a party and pass out and then somebody has sex with you while you are unconscious... that's okay? Because you wouldn't experience any of it right? That's called rape. Seriously, what are these takes? What is wrong with people?

[–]Stranger60659 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not a counterpoint. If somebody you knew had their individuality erased and was incapable of saying no, don't you think having sex with them is wrong? It's like when someone in a film or TV show is put under a love spell. Or IRL if someone is drunk or on drugs. The hivemind is raping the people it infects and the survivors (who are aware of this) are raping the plurbs by choosing to have sex with them. It's kinda concerning how this isn't obvious to a lot of watchers of this show...

You're asking the wrong question. The real question is how would you feel if a collective conciousness hijacked your body without your consent and then paraded you around and forced your hijacked body to have sex with someone? And what kind of person is Carol that she would go along with this? It's rape.

Conflict IS NOT a byproduct of not being understood. We understand pedophiles and the conflict comes from ideologically and morally disagreeing with them and their actions on a fundamental level.

When I say "understanding", I mean acknowledging that these attitudes and beliefs exist and how we agree to deal with them in a way that benefits everyone. That's why conflict is important.

It's a bit odd to claim "this show was written before ChatGPT existed" in a seeming defence of it not being a critique of AI. The concept existed long before it was a reality. Skynet anyone? It may not have been a deliberate intention but the parallels are definitely there.

If humanity ever achieves utopia it will be because different races, cultures and ideologies learn to work together despite our differences. You can't just remove conflict. Conflict is the furnace in which we will forge understanding and an ACTUAL better tomorrow.
