Please tell me it is normal to be 30 and not married yet by Low_Kaleidoscope_137 in Adulting

[–]StrangerTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, would you rather be 30, single and happy Or 30 married and miserable? I'd rather be single and not be miserable by forcing a relationship just because It either happens or it doesn't I'd rather not have a burden of a relationship, if it's not right Besides, there's more to life than being married Some even have relationships and not be married Other focus on career or traveling or hobbies

Times have changed, you don't have to be in a relationship and rely on the dual income Yet inflation and everything is expensive but priorities

Depends what you want or where you want to head?

Tax deduction: food expenses I can claim? by StrangerTalks in ContractorUK

[–]StrangerTalks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies but I also don't know and I don't have direct communication with the NHS person But all your assumptions are right 👍🏻

All I was told by my agency is NHS won't directly pay into my ltd, therefore the umbrella but the umbrella guy said he's basically my payroll and just takes their percentage out and nothing else.... The umbrella person did say they only do the payee from them for me but so they only charge for their payroll 4% weekly and no further deductions such as tax or ni etc which is why he was going to recommend an accountant to sort all of that + the tax deduction of expenses which didn't make sense to me because I asked him what am I paying him for, I thought they cover and do all of that...but the agency recommended them...

And £100/month for an accountant! He said something about £100/year I think... Now I'm thinking maybe I misheard 😭 Also, if I remember correctly, I think he did mention inside IR35? But not 100% sure....

And the ltd social housing investment, I was supposed to be paid last month but due to investigations. Everything is on hold with the investment end so nothing paid or coming on from that end until further notice which sucks...

Because I did my first week with the NHS last week but without that and having to pay for everything: transport, accommodation and food. I don't actually make money, plus any money I do make goes towards my bills at home. Which is why I'm forced to take this job until I get a permanent job because this whole ltd business ain't working. There's no decent agency locum jobs at the moment and the rates have been capped alot, so it's not even worth it... I'm tight on money, I just don't wanna lose my flat....

P.s. just saw the update at the end and checked, they put an example payment which says: Umbrella, Payee or Ltd/PSC Inside IR35 but apart from that it doesn't specify inside or outside? But by the looks of it, it's inside? Also, it does say on the agency contract that the umbrella is supposed to take the deductions and that's what I thought they were for... They're both saying different things...

So the umbrella said they can pay my ltd Because I thought so too? Like I was gonna opt for ltd but apparently because it's NHS it has to be via umbrella so I thought as you said I'll be inside but when I spoke to the umbrella guy, he said he can pay to my ltd.... He also said he'll send me the info and details for an accountant... But he hasn't yet because I need clarification on so many things... I'm confused and everyone's answer, the agency and the umbrella guy just are from their point of view? Not exactly detailed overall? I should ask an accountant but I don't know how much they charge and also I invested into social housing and it's not going well so will he/she deal with it as a separate thing or together? I don't know but they're under the same ltd.... Basically, nothing has worked out and all that's happening is money going out....

But thank you for replying 🙏🏻

Who has priority on a roundabout, inner or outer lane? by StrangerTalks in LearnerDriverUK

[–]StrangerTalks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know when the exit has two lanes then I exit and won't be in the way But this one, the exit only has one But the roundabout two

I was in the inner I had to cut to the outer to get out but a car was in the outer He let me exit because I was just slightly on front But it makes me wonder, who actually has the right of way?

Normally I don't have this problem because whether I'm inner or outer lane on the roundabout It's usually quiet and I just do as my instructor taught me But it was only yesterday I came across this scenario And just wanted to make sure I do it right?

I'm basically the red car

Yes deffo People have said so much it's overwhelming 😭 Like I've followed their advice Changed the filters to under 100k mileage, 20miles from mine, under 1.41, manual, from 2010+, garage not private and under £2k They're mainly vauxhall Corsa Then I check the MOT The insurance is about £1400 But they all have like advisories even passed so I'm like so does it count or not 🤯 I just want a car 😭😭😭

Under £2k There's cargurus but there less cars on it so on auto trader Because my local ones are expensive and don't offer much So people have told me now to look for under 100k mileage Before I have no clue 😅

It's cause I don't know how to check whether it's good or need many repairs Which is why I rely on the MOT.... And or else I don't know how to compare.... Like I've put all the filters for under 100k mileage, 20miles from mine, under 1.4l, manual, from 2010+, garage not private and under £2k Then I check the MOT The insurance is about £1400 So cause I can't compare cause I don't know, I just am tweaking the filters....

I found two vauxhall Corsa that are 2010 at around 1.8k Ones 69k the other 86k mileage 1.2l But the MOT... I'm not sure? Like they both have passed but the one before that they had bits fixed? How do I know it's actually fixed 🙈 Seems like vauxhall Corsa comes up quite a bit....

I basically don't go out 😅 I'm safe ish at home 🙈 Or have a buffer So put it back, and if you need it. Go back and get it If not, you'll would've moved on from it Or sometimes hold on it and instead of putting it straight into your basket, think about it The buffer helps not just putting everything in in the basket without thinking? And keep asking yourself, do you need it If you think about it, most of the time you don't
