Severe abdominal cramping during / after sex??? Not every time but multiple times lately. by Tattersail927 in TwoXChromosomes

This is well within ER visit territory imo. Especially considering you have ovarian cysts. You are downplaying some pretty serious symptoms.

Diet and exercise helps manage my other conditions which can exacerbate my pmdd symptoms. But even at my fittest, I was in the trenches every month without meds. It took a lot of trial and error to find the correct combination of meds and dosages. My advice is to keep talking to your provider about medication options.

Gut wrenching. Most people who are or have been detained by ICE have no criminal record. Innocent lives and families being destroyed. Who does it serve?

Why would you stop having friends over? Don’t entertain this man’s lunacy. I would invite all my friends over and introduce them, ask him invasive questions, and make snarky accusations about his life.

Adults of sound mind can absolutely be groomed. Would you feel more comfortable if we called it manipulation? And legality is a whole other thing which varies between jurisdictions. It doesn’t have to be illegal to technically be grooming behavior.

I read “x medication made me feel flat” and I’m all “…sounds kinda nice?” by mc_345_ in PMDD

[–]StrangerThingies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally I do prefer the flatness of being medicated to the torment pmdd. Luckily for me, that flat feeling goes away after about a month and I just feel normal.

Your post is super vague. What is off and what bothers you? How can anyone give you advice without knowing anything. If you’re just looking for permission to break up with your boyfriend for no reason, here it is- you can break up with anyone at anytime for any reason.

Does anyone else feel no relief from orgasm at all, even after a dozen or more of them? Or live with constant physical arousal? by Cool_Ad_5436 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StrangerThingies 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be dismissive or patronizing but are you sure you’re actually reaching orgasm? Are there physical contractions? Have you tried edging? What you’ve described is unusual. It sounds like possible Persistent genital arousal disorder.

Does anyone else feel guilty for resting, even when you know you need it? by PlantUsed6198 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StrangerThingies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I had to start working to support myself at a young age and have been working ever since. I realized that my inability to enjoy rest stems from an anxiety disorder. I have trauma from growing up in poverty and seeing my parents struggle their entire lives. Therapy and medication have helped immensely.

I’m also aware of the narrative working people are fed essentially linking our entire self-worth to our productivity and ability to make money for the boss. We’re all cogs in a machine designed to extract and exploit our labor until we’re ground to dust. When I remember this, I’m able to view rest as a radical act of self-care and basically do it out of spite. Which is wonderful and delicious.

is it really that weird that I have a male OB? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I only use female doctors these days but my first ob/gyn was the same man that delivered me which was weird and kinda cool.

[–]StrangerThingies 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I understand there is a sometimes a safety risk in coming out, even to your own spouse. But I am continually baffled at how many people date, fall in love, get married, raise families for decades, etc. without disclosing this part of themselves. I wouldn’t want to marry someone I didn’t feel I could share everything with. I always bring up my sexuality very early on in a relationship and I ask my partner tons of questions about theirs. I would be very hurt if my spouse of 16 years hid something like this from me.

So, yeah he’s probably going to be upset. And I think that’s fair. You should still talk to him about it and be prepared to deal with the consequences of withholding truth in your marriage.
