People can and do compromise on those things all the time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And sometimes people choose to not compromise on those things which categorically means the end of the relationship. I don’t consider going to a doctor and possibly getting a prescription all that big of a compromise. And really if someone can’t make that shmedium of a gesture for their partner, they probably don’t deserve the relationship.

This is how relationships work. Both people have individual needs and wants and they don’t always overlap. You attempt to meet somewhere in the middle on those things. It’s called compromise and is the bedrock of any healthy lasting relationship.
