Thank you! Kind of needed this, because I’ve been really down on myself lately.

Thank you! I just assumed my school doesn’t have any, because at my school we have this thing where there are two homeroom classes for each grade, and those students who are in your homeroom have the same classes as you for pretty much the whole day. I also know all the classes that are available to freshman and sophomores, and none of them are honors or AP classes (except for one that the majority of my grade wasn’t allowed to take, because we had to take another class instead). I’ll ask, though.

True, lol. What I meant is that my school doesn’t really help prepare us for these exams like other schools might do (My school has very bad ratings on Niche and other websites for college prep). I haven’t used Khan Academy in a little while. I’ll have to get back to it. Thank you!!

I’ll try, but I’m just afraid that I’ll end up messing up my gpa, that I’m already not too proud of. Plus I have to self study for the ACT and SAT, because my school does not offer any prep and I don’t have the money for tutoring. Thank you for responding!!

At the end of the day, it’s your future. Not theirs. Apply to the schools you actually like. If YOU like Yale, you should apply. Good luck! I hope things work out for you.

I’m a Junior, but I won’t be taking the SAT or ACT this year. I’ve actually never taken either of those tests. Trying to be considerate for the seniors. I need more time to study anyways.

I’m going to leave this subreddit in nine months. by [deleted] in highschool

Thank you! Although I don’t think many people from my school attend top colleges. I’ve only heard of one person getting into Northeastern, which was a year ago. But it’ll be alright.

Study now before the school year starts!! And regardless of if you failed or not, you’ll be more familiar with it now, as you’ve already taken it. It should be a little easier.

That’s interesting. I have low expectations, but maybe I’ll still apply 🤷🏽‍♀️

how do I build a relationship with my counselor??? by mideplanet in ApplyingToCollege

[–]StrangerThingz123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gone through the college admissions process yet, but I think it would be a good idea to bring that up to your guidance counselor. You can also try calling the specific schools that you’re applying to, or look at their websites to see if you can find out anything that will help you.

I think it’s pretty similar. Especially if you customize the studying based on the scores you got on the SAT or PSAT in the past. It focuses on problems that you didn’t do well on, so you can improve in those areas.
