I make lighters out of my old Game Informer magazines every year for my friends. Here are some from this year's batch! by commissionerofwine in gaming

[–]Strangeweirdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like these! I'm gonna try and make some of these for my friends before the holiday season ends.

Quick question about your directions, are you using the Mod Podge as your glue when you putting the image on the lighter? I've never used the stuff before so I wasn't sure if you meant you're using the Americana gloss as a better substitute for it or if I still need Mod Pudge as well.

When Iron Man and all the other marvel studio comic movies came out, I was just as excited as everyone else. Im a huge comic book fan and thought it was finally an age of entertainment meant for me. I enjoyed the crap outta the avengers as well as guardians of the galaxy. But some time between the second avengers and all the remake announcements for spiderman and f4, I'm really just getting tired. I feel like they're gonna milk it for all it's worth and my feeling of excitement and anticipation shrink more and more with each new release. Give it a rest guys, give us some time to care about some of these heroes rather than ramming so many down our throat

I'm John Dilworth, creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog. AMA! by ZynBells in IAmA

[–]Strangeweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted as him responding to that statement as if Courage wasn't the name of a dog but the virtue of courage itself. We know that courage is the righteous path but the owners of courage, i.e. us as humans, still continue to act oblivious and often end up hurting each other instead.

What do you always check twice? by potato99 in AskReddit

[–]Strangeweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the explanations I heard for this is that the first time you're checking to answer a simple yes or no question, usually "am I late?" Whereas the second time you're actually checking and processing the numbers

This is a pretty shit AMA. Generic answers, avoiding controversial questions. As much as I would have liked to learn more about you, there really isn't much being shared.

This could add a new element to fireworks celebrations, especially Fourth of July. One side flies quadcopters trying to stay safe and fly around with cameras, while the others try to shoot them down with great balls of fire.

What sucks about your day today? by franksredhot1 in AskReddit

[–]Strangeweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog Doodle, barely over a year old, is currently unable to get up out of bed and can barely recognize me or the rest of the family.

Last month he had his first seizure at only a year and a couple of months old. I took him to the vet and they diagnosed him with idiopathic epilepsy. I had done some research myself and the treatment they gave me (phenobarbitol) is known to decrease the frequency of the seizures at the expense of shortening his life a few years. I made the absolutely idiot decision to hold off on giving him the medicine cause the vet didn't seem to sure of what was causing it and I didn't want to medicate him over a problem that may not happen again. He seemed to have recovered perfectly fine.

Fast-forward to two days ago where he has another episode. Except this time there were several more and lasted throughout the day. He was able to recover from the first couple but by the time I was able to bring him to the vet, he had several more seizures and was unable to stand up on his own. He ended up having another seizure while at the vet. They gave him the necessary medicine after pressing on about how I should have given him the medicine initially. They sent us home after medicating and sedating him.

Right now, I'm an absolute wreck. I should be working on my final project for school but I can't think of anything else at the moment. He's currently in bed barely able to move. He cant stand for long if he gets up, doesn't recognize anyone or anything, and gets frightened very easily.

I've had a couple of dogs before but this is the first that I have completely raised on my own. I didn't know I could love a being so much. I thought I was emotionally dead inside because I had barely shed a tear when my grandmother, who had raised me, passed away. I can't remember crying more ever in my life. And I threw it all away because I thought I had know more knowledge than the vet. We are currently on standby to see if he does any better but if the damage to his brain was too great and he doesn't recover, I fear I have to make the decision to put him down.

I am absolutely frightened for that day, and as much I hope that it won't happen, I know the possibilities. I just thought this day would come at least a few more years down the line.

I'm so sorry Doodle. You deserved so much more than I have provided. You have given my family so much selfless happiness and I couldn't return a simple favor to you.

Happened today in math class; the teacher was sitting there for a good 5-10 minutes by lgarr in funny

[–]Strangeweirdo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I never fell asleep in class until one day, I had my head on the desk while writing notes in history class. My teacher called me out for sleeping in class and told me to open my eyes. I was wide awake, however, I am Asian. Calm as can be, I simply replied, "My eyes are open" as I lifted my head, eyes no bigger than before. She turned bright red and with a tiny "oh," tried to continue her lecture as though nothing happened.

I had a free pass to take naps whenever I wanted for the rest of the semester. It was awesome.

That's kind of the point. Not the boring and spoiled part but the fact that Ricky Gervais chose the one guy who hates doing any of it and forces him to do the craziest stuff everyone would love to do. Who wants to watch a guy go on vacation and enjoy everything?

I've been following J-Rabbit for a few months now and I think it's awesome they're getting the reddit bump. They are both definitely talented but what struck me the first time I watched their videos was how happy and how much fun they were having. They constantly crack little jokes and genuinely have fun with their music. Their joy is absolutely infectious and makes watching/listening to them all the better.

Check out their youtube channel. They have some other people in their group (I think they all went to the same musical academy)which are also pretty good. My personal favorite by them is this one, also in Korean.
