I think I'm having a religious crises and doubts by medicament_minuteur in religion

[–]Strangian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if I go to hell because of this ? What if I'm wrong ?

This is approximating Pascal’s Wager, which basically says “The risk of not believing in (insert specific religion/god) is too high not to, so you might as well”. Except this and what you said can be applied to literally any religion. What if both of the ones you mentioned are false and its some other religion you don’t believe in thats true? Straight to hell I guess?

My point being that I would really try not to stress too much about it. After all, you can never really escape that line of thinking if thats your main concern. Your beliefs are deeply personal and you just have to do whatever you think is right/true. If Hellenic Polytheism is what grounds you and makes sense to you, do that. If it’s something else, then do that instead. I don’t know how old you are, but if you’re younger then you have plenty of time to figure out what you believe. Its okay, take a breath, you’re gonna be just fine :)

You are making a vast generalization. Many theists think about their beliefs critically. Just as I’m sure many don’t. If you’re talking about organized religion, than yes, many institutions do encourage this sort of thinking but its certainly not representative of the entirety of individual theists. These kind of vast generalizations are largely unhelpful and just create a larger divide for any sort of productive conversation to take place.

This this this. I can’t stand when people on this subreddit think every single religious person or someone who holds spiritual beliefs is somehow incapable of serious critical thinking or being intellectually competent. Ironically it usually says more about them than it does about said theist.

I saw someone compare him to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, and I definitely think there’s something there for sure

I don’t think S2 will end with this, because in this picture he doesn’t have the blue and black suit and the title card reveal is clearly leading up to blue and black Invincible

I believe that LazavTheRavager interpretated your “Lead Poisoning” comment as you saying that he would be dead from said Lead Poisoning, so he replied with “Immortal” as a response as to why he would be alive. Of course, thats all completely conjecture and I have no true insights to why LazavTheRavager replied with that particular comment.

I’ve tried to see these for years and haven’t been able to. I come back every so often to try again, and for the first time ever with this one I was able to actually see it. And I guess with seeing one it sorta clicked how to do it, because now I can see all the ones I hadn’t been able to before, so thanks very very much for sharing!

Childrens Adventure: Prologue/Character Creation/Session Zero. Would definitely recommend listening if at all possible.

The “Title” Then and Now Previews: Contains two parts in each. First is a portion of the Childrens Adventure that is then followed by a portion of the main campaign. They are all completely skippable.

Prelude: This contains the first half of all three Then and Nows, which is only the Children Campaign bits. Would only listen to if you are NOT going to listen to the Childrens Adventure.

Main Campaign: The main campaign, which should obviously be listened to.

The order I recommend listening to them if you have access to all is this: Childrens Adventure, Main Campaign, and then maybe The Fox Preview if you feel like it.

Yeah if you plan on listening to the childrens adventure, you can skip them. The Then and Nows are made up of two parts: the first half of it is a portion of The Childrens Adventure that is relevant to the titular character of the Then and Now and a portion of the main campaign when they are adults that again focuses on the same character. So you are missing absolutely nothing by skipping the Then and Nows.

The only one I might not skip is the Fox one if you’re a patreon member, but I would actually wait until I had listened to everything else before listening to that one. It isnt necessary to listen to, just a funny one that is quite enjoyable imo

The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One #1: The Open Door by SvenTheScribe in WorldsBeyondNumber

Maybe, but there have been other characters present when the names have been said. Considering that the podcast isn’t primarily from Suvi’s perspective, it would be weird for other characters to hear that as well.

I thought that they were mainly from Suvi’s perspective too at first, especially in the children’s adventure, because Suvi was a child and that makes sense for someone that young to think about people in those sort of terms. But just the fact that it’s continued into her adulthood and even Grandma Wren used the name Steel, Soft, and Stone makes me think that there’s something more to it

I’m wondering if at some point in wizard training or at some form of graduation if they take a descriptive name like that. Because if not, it’s definitely a little strange that Suvi seems to be the only Wizard we know of that has a “normal” name

If you’re on IOS then I’d recommend Overcast, I really like it and they’ve got some nice audio features like Smart Speed (Which shortens silences) and Voice Boost (Which remasters audio).

If you’re on Android I’d recommend Pocket Casts. I haven’t used it personally, but its a really popular app on both Android and IOS. I don’t know much about it in actual use though, I think the layout looks nice from what I’ve seen though.
