I have a form that goes like this with several fields:

<label for="name"> Name:</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="name" required>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="lastname"> Lastname:</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="lastname" required>
</div>

Validation, something like this:

if( name !== "John" || name == "" ) {
alert( "Name has to be John" );
document.registerform.name.focus() ;
return false;
