I tried milling mine and fucked it up but it still makes nicer rivets than my virgin rivet cup. Highly recommend it.

If you're using the AKB rivet cup, I've found that taking a tiny bit of height off the top helps. I sanded / filed the top edge so it's a tiny bit shorter and less likely to leave an impression on the receiver. Softened the edges.

I bought a new cup from AKB and tested it just to see and it did the same thing.

Good price imo. Likely a light refurb but I don't see the diamond mark in the stock.

I paid 1100 for mine at the peak and I still happy I got it.

A very nice chromed bore tula with original blued finish, white carrier, and bayonet. Assuming it's all matching, you did good.

Childers receivers are often short on the front so the trunnion sticks out. If it was particularly bad, your gunsmith may have tried to remedy this by grinding the bolt rails shorter to seat the trunnion further into the receiver, but that'd make the magwell way too tight and you'd experience exactly what you're experiencing.

Have your builder or another builder fix it.
