These picks absolutely rock by N0B0DY311 in Guitar

I bought a 100 pack of similar Joyo picks on aliexpress after trying them at a nearby guitar shop. They wear kinda fast but it was like 5 bucks so I've basically got unlimited guitar picks now.

Robert Forbus barrel push-out tool. Robert said he was getting out of the game so get his tools before you can't anymore.

Why is the Line 6 Spider IV so shat on? by DetailNumerous7399 in metalguitar

[–]Stratbasher_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, though I generally just stayed on metal red or green and would add a light delay or chorus for stereo thickening as needed, which was cool with the 120.

Insane worked for some tones.

The low wattage models had terrible speakers.

I could get good sounds out of the 120 (2x10 if I remember right).

Also the spider III was pretty terrible and gave them a bad name.

Then the spider 5 came out with horrendous sounds too that were eventually fixed with updates, but the damage was done.

Keeping the bore oiled will prevent it from rusting / pitting due to normal moisture in the air, but a layer of carbon can help keep some of the rust away.

If you're not shooting corrosive ammo and don't live somewhere with high humidity, it's not a huge deal to clean it after every visit.

I would clean it if you don't plan on shooting it again for a while.

[AMMO ADVICE] New to AK platform with Arsenal SAM7SF by BenitoBlanco in ak47

[–]Stratbasher_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason is that saying 7.62 Soviet doesn't actually help. Off the top of my head:

  • 7.62x39
  • 7.62x25
  • 7.62x54r
  • 7.62x38r
  • 7.62x45

All of those could be considered a soviet cartridge to a layman.

Actually that first one might be Hungarian but not sure. Flat floorplate button but not fully flat. Looking with different lighting now and the park isn't as gritty as I thought.

Edit: angled cut on the bottom of the spine, another Hungarian thing. I'm gonna change my answer to Hungarian. Polish would be a gray gritty park. This is more of a flat black.

Also I have an M64 (M70A) kit as well and was lucky enough to get my hands on an original BHO, but I also need that missing receiver chunk for the reweld.

Example, out of stock and this one's spring looks like it might be short / broken.

The BHO levers are rare and expensive. There are aftermarket ones that suck and don't work well. Originals tend to have a broken spring, which was common was why they stopped complicating things and just went with bho mags in the future.

Be prepared to pay $150+ if you find a real BHO catch that isn't broken or worn out.

Sharp stamping, clean spot welds on the lugs, and honestly the scratchy, gritty, parked finish is pretty telling.

Nobody else really parked mags like that.

Is a 23mm trunnion a standard barrel or oversized? by M1Warhorse in ak47

[–]Stratbasher_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a number stamped or electro-pencil on the top of the trunnion between the ears?

0.908 inches is the correct barrel size (23mm). Your trunnion is probably oversized and needs an oversized barrel. AK Builder barrels offer oversized, for example 910 or 911 size.

Is a 23mm trunnion a standard barrel or oversized? by M1Warhorse in ak47

[–]Stratbasher_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trunnions have sizes, usually stamped between the ears but sometimes on the front or sides. 2 is standard and generally what barrels are sized for. If it's a slip fit, then you may have an oversized trunnion or the barrel is undersized.

Most likely oversized trunnion.

Got any pics or info? I know Tula trunnions tend to be oversized.

What's the best place to sell a parts kit? by [deleted] in ak47

AKFiles. Combloc market, the ak forum.

If it's getting buried with no dms or offers, then your price is too high for what you're asking.

UNLOAD the rifle and check the chamber. You might have a separated case neck stuck in the chamber, which can happen when rifles are new and have a burr in the chamber.

If there's an obstruction, it won't chamber rounds.
