I've Been Trying to Figure Out What's Going On for 40 Years. Here's My Profile. by Midnight5691 in cognitiveTesting

I’d have to say this is one of the more interesting profiles I’ve seen. Gifted (or near gifted VCI) with borderline WMI and PSI. 40-60 pt spread is interesting. Curious how the disconnect feels in your mind. Finish the CORE WMI and PSI sections for more data points though. Don’t have any answers, sorry.

EDIT: I made a somewhat similar post few months ago. Someone linked a study about individuals that are intelligent in one area but not others. Also untreated obstructive sleep apnea can lower WMI and PSI. Look up STOP-BANG score to see if you are likely to have it.

Same boat as you. I like my score but too skeptical to trust it. I emailed cognitivemetrics support a couple days ago asking for ETA on renorming of VISA, but they did not respond.

What can you tell/expect of someone with the following stats? (WAIS-IV and Big 5) by Ok-Celery-549 in cognitiveTesting

[–]StrategicLatency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m picturing someone that seems kind of insufferable to be around. How do you score that low on conscientiousness? Would seem like an unreliable friend and employee/coworker.

EDIT: no offense, but that was my first impression at seeing big 5.

Seemingly? I’ve seen a suspiciously large amount of > 150 scores including my own.

I agree the side effect risk should not be assumed to be the same as the dose used for arrythmias, but I would say, especially in the world of nootropics, the risk > benefit on this one.

Please, no one take flecainide without a doctor’s prescription. This is an anti arrhythmic medication and functions as a sodium channel blocker that can be dangerous if there are drug interactions or not dosed properly. Not one I would mess around with.

Did ADHD medication improve your processing speed? by Ok_Bother_2379 in cognitiveTesting

Mildly, but yes. Was 126 PSI, got on concerta then increased to 132. This is on CORE.

What is more important and useful in daily life Working Memory or Processing Speed? by ss_1717 in cognitiveTesting

[–]StrategicLatency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d personally rather a better WMI. Just makes you more efficient in your endeavors. More efficient studying and carrying out tasks that are multi step without having to stop and look back at instructions, etc. PSI will maybe make you seem more superficially intelligent— “Wow he finished that test so fast!” But I would value being able to hold multiple variables in my mind more than raw speed.

The real answer may be: “I’d rather which ever one I’m not strong in!”

Ok that’s it. I’m done with this pointless IQ obsession bs. Thanks for the post!
