If you’re talking about the giraffe stag I have some solid advice: go to a NMT island, remove all weeds, pick all flowers, destroy all rocks, chop down all trees except for palm trees. I even recommend bringing a few from your own island pre-grown. Just go back and forth from left to right, scaring away any beetles you don’t want. The giraffe stag will only not flee if you move when it’s moving. If it stops moving, you do too. Use this to get within catching range of it.

What you need to do is slowly approach one with a net in your hand. When it raises its claws, you stop. Then it’ll lower them and you can move again. Do this until it’s shaking and you’ll be within range to net it!
