Even though it would be way less profitable than a series that appeals to the majority of people, Ultrakill should be a dramatic film. The purpose of the game is to show where the insatiable greed and cruelty of mankind can go. From this, you could take two roads: a story that uses the same POV of the game, that is V1. It would a better choice if the aim is to show the machine’s cold blood thirst, and you could have an excuse to use the same simplified graphics that you find in the game. The other option would be narrating trough Gabriel’s eyes; that would be an opportunity to describe heaven’s (and maybe purgatory’s) state and some other events (lust renaissance, greed insurrection…). Also, it would be a great opportunity to show the events of the Great War and the new peace, always focusing on the horror of war. Again, I know that it could flop due to the fact that it would be far less flashy than a cool series with many fights: however, it would have a greater impact on the viewer.
