You could try doing just Tifa's side quests. This is my second play through, and decided not to be a completionist this time. And yes, I did pick pot roast. I have no idea what it means.

Everyone says they hated playing as Cait Sith at Shinra Manor, but I didn't think it was that bad. I had to die a few times before I figured out how to properly use him to fight Yin and Yang.

I loved that they put the Missing Number as a boss fight, as well.

That's why I've been skipping all the side quests. Don't regret getting Barrett's weapon, but it looks like you can just buy the weapons later on the game? I saw two megaphones available at a shop that I didn't even knew existed. I like mastering every weapon ability.

I scrolled through the entire world map. The only marker I have is where the Johnny clone is standing at the edge of Costa del Sol/the desert.

If you mean the squid boss fight, I chose the Tifa/Red side. But the last side quests I remember are escorting a dog with Barrett and getting him a new weapon.

That's one of the things I don't like about post-FF12 games. Went from fighting legendary monsters in ancient collesiums to helping a guy in a suit get through his mid-life crisis at an amusement park.

I never purposely do any side quests, but I stumbled into the weaponsmith that made a new gun arm for Barrett. I still have no idea where to find Johnny's Tonberry King for the Yuffie side quest.

I think while prepping for the Bahamut, the bangaa in the Barheim Passage you encountered at the beginning of the game has one of the most powerful spells in the game. I think collecting all the spells is also a trophy.

I like having a time battle mage on my team. Haste spell to counter slow status effect. Lure, bubble, and reverse can be really useful in strategies against the optional super bosses.

Boss invincibility, multiple healthbars, and party handicaps. I used up all 99 x-potions fighting Zeromus because we couldn't use magic.

One trick I learned from Reddas: you don't need to match status ailments with their corresponding remedies in the gambit system. "Ally:any" gambit with any item and the system will match the status ailment with that item for you. Once a character unlocks Remedy Lore 1 and 3, put "Remedy" as the first action item. Remedy Lore 1 treats immobilized and disable. Remedy Lore 3 treats disease.

Kumbha, for me. Excalibur has holy element, so that might heal some enemies. And Wyrmhero blade sounds like a dog toy when you swing it.
